Clean your battery cables and clean the power distribution box cable and check the fuses and relays to see if they might be loose for the ECM(POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE),IGNITION COILS,FUEL INJECTION AND OTHER ENGINE MANAGEMENT FUSES AND RELAYS
the taurus uses a "thin film" ignition module located on the side of the distributor where it touches the distributor there is a film of heat transfer paste to keep the module cool this paste dries out and, the module heats up and, you have a "no start" until the module cools
the paste is availlible from Ford or, radio shack
i would say module but havent a clue where it be ,never seen one of these cars before here in spain ,module could be inside distributor or under the coil or mounted somewhere else around the engine compartment
It is most likely the TFI ignition module, replace it, don't use anything but the FORD part, the aftermarket modules are very poor quality, I have done hundreds of TFI"s and know this for a fact.
