The first thing i would do is to have the computer scanned for codes, this will help in finding the problem,it could be a alternator or a short or a loose connection ,

I have replaced the speed sensor several times but the problem keing back in my 2001 saturn sc1

Speedometer will not make transmission act up. Check the fluid level and depending on mileage you may have to replace it.

Whats wrong with Helen?

The speed sensor might be bad. I used to own a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the same symptons. The car will start, but will not pass the 1st or 2nd gear, the speedometer will be at 0. I replaced the speed sensor and all the problems went away.

Intermittent Digital Dash

check the dash is sitting right, push on the dash. if this fixes it then you have a bad connection to the board pins on the back. if not there is a board in the dash that has failed usually down to a capacitor going, this age being a 91 model it dont cost a;lot for the capacitor/s to be changed but you will need some sodering skills to replace it/them.

Tach. drop's to zero while driving 70 ?

I have had the almost same problem twice. A 'thump', like the engine missed a fire and tach drops. Seems OK after restart. Electrical? Timing chain slip?
Has 135,000 mile. Any clues?

2000 Dodge Cummins is blowing fuse on the starter solenoid. Also, tach goes to zero and back up to normal until truck warms up. Noticed a momentary hesitation at highway speed once or twice while driving...

wire that goes to the starter not the main wire there is a smaller wire that sends electric from the switch to the starter solinoid might be shorting out (skinned wire between the starter and the ignition switch/fusebox

Chrysler 99' town&country idiot lights guages go on&off

This is a very common problem on 1998 dodge caravan, voyager, t and County. You have a cracked circuit board in your instrument cluster. It is a dealer item. You can remove your cluster and install the circuit board yourself to save money but after the install you will have to take the vehicle back to the dealer to have it calibrated before the tach and the speedometer will work.

2002 Lincoln LS electrical systems down- won't start

Removed CD player for jammed CD. Reinstalled but car ignition and most electrical sytems won't operate although fuses appear OK. Don't know if it is related to the anti-theft system. When ignition is turned on, both tach and speedometer needles peg out and return to zero but no type of ignition
