When the airbag light (SRS) is on or blinks it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called the clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the steering wheel while maintaining a mechanical connection to the airgag mounted on the steering wheel, to replace this part you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel, this requires a special steering wheel puller tool and that you disarm the airbag system before you start the work, to do this disconnect the battery negative cable for 1/2 hour prior.
My airbag problem has gone on for over 3 years and they have replaced the clock spring, air bag and something that sounds like the pinnion, all about 3 times?? It is still on again. Does the airbag have anything to do with the seatbelts or the drivers seat? I noticed when the light first comes on it is when I click my seatbelt or when my husband drives my car. I am so tired of taking my car back. I hope you would know more. It is a 2004 KIA AMANTI
The airbag system can generate fault codes, the dealer needs to scan the airbag module for this fault code and that will indicate which component or wiring to it is the source of the problem, any part of the system can cause the light to come on, I gave you the most common reason, which is a clock spring, if you had mentioned that you already had that replaced would have moved on to other possible problems that cause the airbag light to come on.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal only and wait for 30 min. Check the air bag fuse its under the hood or the fuse box in the car usually under the steering wheel on the side. After you wait 30 min, unplug all of you air bag connections under the seats and by the seatbelts at the base.and the reconnect them . Also make sure your pretension works by jerking the seat belt and making sure it locks. After that hook up the battery again. Place key in the ignition press down and hold the mileage reset button and hold while holding turn the car to the on position ,BUT DO NOT START IT. After all the bushes stop moving let go of the button ,turn key off wit 5 seconds then turn key to the on position and wait for all the lights and chimes to stop then start your car.
Wiggle the wires under the front seats and see what happens

SOURCE: air bag light
if the air bag stays on that means you have a problem with the air bag system, and you need to have it diagnose, but if you just bought the sedona from a used car dealer they have to fix it, it is part of the safety inspection requred by law
SOURCE: air bag
If the air bag light is blinking count the blinks for the code. Example.. If the air bag light flashes once and then a short pause and then two blinks you would have a code 12. and so on. If it just stays on you will need to take it into a repair shop and get it checked. My best guess without looking at it would be that the clockspring is not working properly. Most of the time when the clockspring goes out other things stop working like the horn or cruise control or something that is on the steering wheel. Hope this helps.
