It idles real rough and the Service Engine Soon light is on. Could be uptake valve?

Most Likely you have a vacuum leak. (hole or broken Hose). For a 2011 it is probably to early for the Valve cover gaskets to be leaking, but that is a possible cause. The older the car the more likely this is the case. Can also be caused by using less than premium fuel. Don't skimp and use mid grade and definitely NOT regular. Also could be the idle control valve.

Could be a few different thing's . vacuum leak , spark plugs , EGR valve leaking , dirty throttle plate , dirty mass air flow sensor. Idle air control problem . dirty fuel injectors ! How's it run other wise ? are there any lights lit on the dash , check engine , service engine soon etc....

A faulty egr would not create a high idle issue. if an egr valve were to open while idling then it would create a heavy stumbling engine or it would die right out. if there is a check engine light on (or service engine soon light) have the codes pulled. Failing that then I suggest taking it to a reputable shop

P0508 = Idle Air Control System Circuit Low

Symptoms:
Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Engine hard to start - Rough or erratic idle speed.

Causes:
Dirty throttle body - Electric throttle control actuator misadjusted or damaged - Faulty Electric throttle control actuator - Intake air leak - Poor electrical connection to the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve.

Solution:
If there are no intake leaks, clean throttle body, adjust engine idle and erase engine code. If the code comes back you may have to replaced the Electric Throttle Control Actuator (Motor) to repair the problem.

Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.
Some specific causes for the light to be on are:
Gas cap left off, not tightened, not installed correctly, or needs to be replaced.
02 sensor.
Engine misfire - error might clear itself after 3 complete warm-up cycles; not restarts, but warm-ups.
At start up for a bulb check - Should not stay on.

is the service engine soon light on? sound like the vehicle has a lean condition. posibbly a vacuum leak.

it's not likely a bad o2 sensor would cause it to run rough, but the catylitic converter, which is what the o2 sensor reads the flow of, would cause the car to idle and run rough.If you take it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test ran on it( most major parts stores will do this for free), thecodes it gets would help pin point it alot better.

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE PCV VALVE MAY BE STUCK OPEN OR THE VACUUM LINE ON THE THROTTLE MAY BE SUCKING OIL INTO IT. PULL OFF THE AIR INDUCTION HOSE AND LOOK INSIDE THE THROTTLE BODY TO SEE IF THERE IS THE PRESENCE OF OIL.OPEN THE PLATE AND SPRAY GOOD CARB AND CHOKE SPRAY INSIDE WITH AN OLD TOOTHBRUSH TO CLEAN IT OUT. SOAK IT UP WITH A CLOTH RAG. WAIT A FEW MINUTES TO START CAUSE IT WILL HAVE TOO MUCH FUEL IN IT TO START. HOPE THIS HELPS. LET ME KNOW PLEASE. BEST OF LUCK.

Check your o2 sensor voltage, those trucks are real bad for o2 sensors, and yes if one sensor is reading 0mv, the others will start to drop out, and the vehicle will run very, rough. You also may check fuel system pressure, should be almost 60p.s.i. If its alot lower, Id be looking into a fuel pump. If that vehicle is drive-by-wire (no throttle cable), the throttle bodies get very dirty and cause that concern also. Id start by having the vehicle scantested.

Maybe your service engine soon light bulb is out. Maybe hook the code reader up to it and make sure its not showing anything.
