Toyota Camry 1993 4 cyl water pump failing, have removed thermostat, considering Electric inline pump as replacement as option ? Please advise me of pro's and con's.

i owned the 1995 4 cyl wide body camry till the cooling system failed in heavy traffic and over heat stripped out the head bolt threads in the block

the toyota camry engine designation is a 5S-FE

water pump is driven by timing belt
behind timing belt covers
they have to be removed to get to the water pump

normally timing belt, seals ,tension er pully and water pump are replaced at the same time ..comes in a kit

i dont have the 5S-FE cooling system hot under pressure specs

so I cant answer which inline electric pump pressure is required to work on the 5S-FE

Drain fluia from transalxe how many go back and what tyte 95 toyoto camry

The 1995 Toyota Camry originally came with Dextron II, but since Dextron II was introduced it has been replaced with Dextron III. You should use the Dextron III transmission fluid. It should take around 2.6 quarts of fluid in the Transmission and around .8 quarts in the Differential (4 Cylinder 5S-FE Engine).

What are the timing marks for a 1996 toyota camry, 2.2

2S-ELC, 3S-FE and 5S-FE Engines

When install,
align the crankshaft pulley set key with the pulley key groove. Install the pulley. Tighten the pulley bolt to 80 ft. lbs. (108 Nm).

On 2S-ELC engines, turn the crankshaft pulley and align the 0 mark on the lower (No. 1) timing belt cover.
Align the camshaft knock pin with the matchmarks on the oil seal retainer.

On 2S-ELC/USA engines, align the knock pin with the pin hole on the timing pulley E mark side. On 2S-ELC/Canadian engines, align the knock pin with the pin hole on the timing pulley.

On 3S-FE and 5S-FE engines, align the knock pin with the groove of the pulley, and slide the pulley onto the camshaft with the plate washer and set bolt.
