Easy money, the crank pully cog has a little hash mark on one of the nipples and that lines strait up and down with the hask mark on the tup of the oil pump directly below the crank sensor, the two cam ullys each have a hash mark on the outer edges and the both align strait up and down with the marks on the rear timing covers.

I replaced water pump and timing belt on 1993 Subaru impreza and cranked it and it sounded loud and rough? how do I diagnosis It?

Go back to the basics. Hand turn the crank to Top Dead Centre. Re-check all your timing marks. Re-check any other parts you removed, such as idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys. Check the new water pump is positioned correctly and you have refilled the coolant system. I've attached an image as a guide for your timing marks.
Which type of tensioner is fitted? The short block type or the long thin one?

1993 Subaru impreza wagon cranking but will not start not getting fuel to the engine

Could be all sorts of things. If the timing belts have slipped, the engine will usually not start or run really rough. Could be the crank angle sensor (under the alternator, just above the main pulley).

If the belt has slipped, you can check by pulling the cam belt covers off. Usually its the LHS side belt that's jumped. The hydraulic tensioner sometimes works loose and detensions the belt. Rotate the engine till to top dead center on the pulley, and see if the cam pulleys are at the timing marks. If the belt has slipped, you WILL have bent valves.

Set camshaft timing

there should be marks on crank pully and cam belt pully. rotate motor until crank pully timing mark is on zero.the cam belt pully should be lined up with its own mark.number one piston should be at the top of its stroke (top dead centre TDC) and number one valves should be shut. if the cam belt mark is not alined with its own mark remove the belt realine the marks and refit the belt

Timeing

Doesn't matter what engine it is as long as it has valves and uses petrol (not diesel), the camshaft lobes at cylinder #1 should always face upwards. This positions the valves at it's closed setting (combustion), this is known as Top Dead Center or TDC. With this in position, all your timing markers should align on their marks (cam pulley, crankshaft pulley or flywheel ring gear). Do not confuse yourself with other cylinders being this and that, as long as number 1 cylinder is at TDC or 0* you have set your timing correctly.

Pls. give this a rating, thank you.

I have a 1993 subaru impreza 4 door L sedan with

mcdevito75 here, You"ll have to manually turn the camshaft gear and other gears to re align the marks, use the starter to align the crankshaft marks. Of course you"ll need the shop manual to show you these marks. Worse case, have the car towed to you local shop for repair.
