99-01 Blazers with the 4.3L motor and 00-03 2.2L motors have the Secondary Air Injection system and I've listed the codes, part #s, circuit description, and have to fix below.

DTC P0410 (SES Light On) - Secondary Air Injection
P1415 and/or P1416 for secondary air injection Bank A and B can also be set if the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a heated oxygen sensor voltage mismatch and activates an internal test to confirm.

Circuit Description:
This is located under the radiator (pump, electric solenoid, and vacuum shutoff valve) and tees off up to the exhaust manifolds thru 2 check valves on 4.3L. For 4wd remove the front skid plate to access. The secondary air injection pump is used to lower tail pipe emissions on start-up. The PCM supplies a ground to the pump relay, which energizes the pump and the electric solenoid valve. Engine vacuum is applied to the shut-off valve when the solenoid is energized. The engine vacuum opens the shut-off valve that allows air to flow to the exhaust manifolds. Often the pump gets water/moisture in it and freezes up blowing the fuse and the check valves rust or freeze open internally and then burn threw the rubber hose, and even melt the lower “T”, shutoff, and even pump impeller.

Check/Replace as required:
1. You should hear the pump on starting the Blazer and if you put your hand on it you will feel it running for about 1 minute. Part #12560095 (AC Delco 215-364) Pump, Sec Air Inj for 1999-2000 L35 (4.3L) or #12568324 (AC Delco 215-425) Pump, Sec Air Inj for 2001 L35 (4.3L) + 2000-2003 L43/LN2 (2.2L).
The GM # is on your current pump so check it because the Dealer is very confused and/or out of these and will sub other pumps. You can remove the pump and take the #25 torx screws out and see if the impeller is clogged, rusted, melted, etc before spending $100-200 for it. Impeller should spin freely.

2. Extend the air intake hose that ends halfway up the passenger side of the radiator about 2 more feet so it can run between the battery and coolant reservoir and push into the fender hole to keep dry. 99-00 is 5/8 heater hose and inline connector and 01-03 is 3/4 heater hose and inline connector –check size.

3. #12558992 (AC Delco 215-638) air injection check valves 2 required – most stores sell these for $12-20 each or Dealer $33 each. If they rattle or the hoses are burned threw replace – should only flow air into the exhaust. The easiest way is to remove the two 13mm nuts that mount the check valve pipe to the exhaust manifold and use a vise to hold them – trust me here. The little exhaust gaskets should be reusable.

4. #10217106 connect (hoses) 2 required check valves to pipes (Dealer Only $7 each). If burned threw or hard/brittle replace. Usually a good thing to plan on buying!

5. #12555165 secondary injection shutoff valve (vacuum operated in the ¾” hose in the pump outlet to the “T” pipe under the Blazer (Dealer Only $27). Only open when the pump is on and vac applied. Also replace the 5/32” vac hose from the solenoid to valve and solenoid to intake (about 4 ft of it). Once you extend the air intake listen to the hose end and you should not hear any exhaust noise after the short initial one minute pump run – if you still do the vac diaphragm is stuck open/clogged/burned so replace. Vac is applied by an electric solenoid mounted by the pump #01997264. The center vac port goes to the intake Manifold vac and the off center vac goes to the shutoff valve above. The vac should only be applied to the shutoff valve for that 1 minute as the Blazer starts then is switched off. Hose clamps will be needed here.

6. #10105352 “T” for under Blazer where pump outlet to both pipes connect – if yours melted! One end is ¾” and two are 5/8”ends - but you can use a ¾” on all ends with a little lube. Hose clamps here too.

7. The pumps 30 amps Maxi-fuse (large size) is under a little black cover between your battery tray and inside the passenger side fender. You may have to remove your battery to get to it. Depress the little cover retainer and remove, then pull the large fuse out to check/replace. There’s also a 10 amp small fuse to check for the electric solenoid that controls the secondary injection shutoff valve mounted by the air pump.

8. If you need the 2 lower hoses that connect the metal pipes to the “T” going to the pump here’s the bad news – Dealer Only and includes the pipes so over $100.

    Keep me posted if your still not sure on what i have tried to address, it's always easier to show then to explain. But check the 30 amp fuse first before you go out buying any expansive parts.

Here is the code P0410....Secondary Air Injection System

This code is caused by a failure of the motor in the electric secondary air injection pump of the emission system.

It tends to fill with condensation and fail.

Solution:-
Replace the pump and check valves coming off the manifold on either side of the engine. The driver's side check valve seems to fail first and allows condensation to run down hose to pump.

How do you fix timing on 96 nissan sentra

For adjusting the ignition timing, you need a timing light.
Attach the spark lead from the timing light to the number one spark plug.
If the timing light is a powered type then
Attach the power leads of the timing light to the battery - red lead to the + terminal on the battery and the black lead to the - terminal on the battery.

Loosen the distributor so you can adjust the timing, start the engine and press the timing light trigger and aim the timing light on the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley. Adjust the distributor to the recommended timing mark for your engine.
Turn off the engine, remove the timing gun and tighten the lock on the distributor.

What is the right way to time a 4cyl Chevy S-10 timing chain

1998-2003 To Remove:
  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Crankshaft pulley and hub
    • Drive belt tensioner gm_truck_s10_tcbolts.gif

    • Timing chain cover bolts gm_truck_s10_tc.gif

    • Timing chain cover and gasket
  2. Install a bolt in the end of the crankshaft CAUTION
    Do not install the crankshaft balancer bolt or a bolt longer than 1 inch or damage to the crankshaft threaded hole will result.
  3. Rotate crankshaft until the number 1 piston is at Top Dead Center of compression stroke.
  4. Make sure that the alignment marks are aligned with the tabs on the timing chain tensioner. gm-03-22-611.gif

  5. Measure distance between hole in bracket and unworn surface of timing chain tensioner shoe. NOTE: If distance between the hole and unworn surface of timing chain tensioner is greater than 0.314 in (8 mm), replace tensioner, timing chain and sprockets.
  6. Remove timing chain tensioner bolts.
  7. Remove the timing chain, timing chain tensioner and camshaft sprocket at the same time.
  8. Remove the crankshaft sprocket using special tool J 22888-20A or equivalent.
  9. Remove crankshaft sprocket alignment key.

NOTE: If any camshaft components are being replaced to correct a noise problem, all camshaft drive components must be replaced.
To Install:
  1. Install the crankshaft sprocket alignment key.
  2. Install the crankshaft sprocket using special tool J 5590 or equivalent. gm-03-22-613.gif

  3. Compress the timing chain tensioner spring and insert a pin into the tensioner hole to retain the tensioner shoe.
  4. Install timing chain and timing chain tensioner (do not tighten tension bolts).
  5. Align the crankshaft and camshaft timing marks with the tab on the timing chain tensioner.
  6. Tighten the timing chain tensioner bolts.
    • Torque to: 18 ft lbs (24 Nm)
  7. Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt.
    • Torque to: 96 ft lbs (130 Nm)
  8. Remove pin from timing chain tensioner hole.
  9. Remove bolt from end of crankshaft. CAUTION
    Inspect the timing chain cover for warping or damage. Replace if needed.
  10. Clean all timing chain cover mating surfaces.
  11. Install or connect the following:
    • Timing chain cover to the engine block
      1. Ensure that the gasket is installed properly in the groove in the timing chain cover
    • Timing chain cover and make sure it fully seated on the alignment dowel pins
    • Timing chain cover bolts
      1. Torque to: 97 inch lbs (11 Nm)
    • Drive belt tensioner
    • Crankshaft damper hub and the crankshaft pulley

Timing Belt
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
1.8L Engine
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the timing belt covers.
Rotate the crankshaft and align the timing marks located on the camshaft pulleys and the seal plate.
Remove the crankshaft pulley and hub.
If the timing belt is to be reused, mark an arrow on the belt to indicate its rotational direction to enable correct re-installation.
Loosen the timing belt tensioner lockbolt and remove the timing belt.
To install:
Temporarily secure the timing belt tensioner in the far left position with the spring fully extended, then tighten the lockbolt.
Make sure the timing marks on the timing belt pulley (crankshaft sprocket) and the engine block (oil pump housing) are aligned.
Make sure the timing marks on the camshaft pulleys and the seal plate are aligned.
Install the timing belt.
Loosen the tensioner lockbolt. Using a suitable prying tool, position the timing belt tensioner so the timing belt is taut, then tighten the tensioner lockbolt.
Turn the crankshaft two turns clockwise and align the timing belt pulley mark with the mark on the engine block.

SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED (or equivalents)
  • J-36008, Camshaft sprocket timing alignment pins.
  • J-39579, Camshaft sprocket wrench.
CAUTIONS:
  • The timing chain on the 1996 LD9 (VIN T) Twin Cam Engine is not to be replaced with the timing chain from any other model year. The timing sprockets are different on the Twin Cam Engine and the shape of the links matches the sprockets. Engine damage may result if the wrong timing chain is used.
  • The timing chain and crankshaft sprocket MUST be marked so that they are reinstalled with the same side facing out at the time of reassembly.
  • Failure to follow the removal and installation procedures could result in severe engine damage.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
  1. Negative battery cable.
  2. Front cover, refer to Timing Cover / Service and Repair .
  3. Rotate crankshaft in clockwise direction until camshaft and crankshaft timing marks are aligned.
  4. Timing chain guides.
  5. Raise and support vehicle.
  6. Ensure slack in timing chain is above tensioner assembly, then remove chain tensioner. The timing chain must be disengaged from grooves in tensioner shoe to permit removal of shoe. Position a suitable screwdriver under timing chain while pulling shoe outward. If difficulty is encountered in removing tensioner shoe, proceed as follows:
    1. Lower vehicle, then while holding the intake camshaft sprocket with J-39579, remove sprocket bolt and washer.
    2. Remove washer, then install bolt into camshaft by hand.
    3. Position a suitable three jaw puller into intake camshaft sprocket relief holes and remove sprocket. CAUTION: Do NOT pry on camshaft sprocket as damage to sprocket or timing chain housing may result.
  1. Tensioner assembly attaching bolts and tensioner assembly.
  2. MARK CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET AND TIMING CHAIN outer surface for reassembly.
  3. Timing chain.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
  1. Intake camshaft sprocket onto camshaft with surface marked during removal showing.
  2. Intake camshaft sprocket retaining bolt and washer, torque to 70 Nm (52 ft lbs) while holding the sprocket with J-39579 (if removed).
  3. Timing pins, J-36008, through holes in camshaft sprockets into holes in timing chain housing to position camshafts for proper timing. If camshafts are out of position and must be rotated more that 1/8 turn to insert timing pins:
    1. Crankshaft MUST be rotated 90°clockwise off of TDC in order to give the valves adequate clearance to open.
    2. Once the camshafts are in position and the timing pins have been installed rotate crankshaft COUNTERCLOCKWISE to TDC. CAUTION: Do NOT rotate the crankshaft clockwise to TDC, valve or piston damage could occur.
  1. Timing chain over exhaust camshaft sprocket, around idler sprocket and around crankshaft sprocket.
  2. Set camshaft sprockets at timed position and install timing chain. Remove timing pin from intake camshaft. Using J-39579, rotate the intake camshaft sprocket counterclockwise until timing chain can be installed over sprocket. Release J-39579 after timing chain has been installed over sprocket. The length of chain between intake and exhaust camshaft sprockets should tighten. The timing pin should easily fit through intake camshaft sprocket timing hole into timing chain housing timing hole. If timing pin does not fully index, the camshafts are NOT timed correctly and the procedure MUST be repeated.
  3. With timing pins installed, raise and support vehicle.
  4. With slack removed from timing chain between intake camshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket, timing marks on crankshaft and engine block should be aligned. If the marks are not aligned, move timing chain one tooth forward or rearward to align marks. Remove slack and recheck marks.
  5. Reload tensioner assembly to zero position as follows:
    1. Form a keeper out of heavy gauge wire into a U-shaped piece with a half inch opening.
    2. Apply slight force on tensioner blade to compress plunger.
    3. Insert small screwdriver into reset access hole and pry rachet pawl away from ratchet teeth while forcing the plunger completely in the hole.
    4. Install keeper between access hole and blade.
  1. Tensioner assembly to chain housing and recheck plunger assembly installation, noting long end is toward crankshaft.
  2. Tighten timing chain tensioner bolts to 10 Nm (89 in lbs) .
  3. Lower vehicle to point where timing pins can be removed from camshaft sprockets.
  4. Rotate crankshaft two revolutions in the clockwise direction. Align crankshaft keyway with the mark on cylinder block and reinstall timing pins through camshaft sprockets into housing timing holes. Timing pins should slide easily through timing holes. If timing pins cannot be inserted easily, repeat procedure to properly time engine. CAUTION: If the engine is not correctly timed, severe engine damage could occur.
