You cannot release the bonnet from the outside.

In any case the key should open the driver's door manually. You will need to turn it either once or twice in succession. If it will not open then pull on the handle and turn the key in the lock at the same time.

sounds like a security issue, disconnect the neg terminal of the battery for 5 minutes, after you reconnect the battery use the door key to lock and unlock the drivers door. try to restart

Sounds like you need to clean the battery cables as well as check the batterys water level.
should start right up.

you need a full charged battery or battery replaced [if battery bad and not holding charge] your remote key fob will not work if battery is dead or to weak to start car but key should be able to manually open drivers door --if its not an original key new cut or worn down [may have to jiggle in door ] your anti theft/security lock will come on when you use key in door than you have a few seconds after you open door to put key in ignition and turn to on position before alarm goes off but you need to get battery issue corrected first if key still doesnt work may need to have assistance [slimjim]lock to get in

Since led is still flashing is mostly sure a too low battery!
On winter cold weather a battery can loose 30% from its actual charge!!

Make sure the positive side of the battery faces up.

the key doesn't work in the door locks?

If that's the case than your only alternative is to call you local towing company or locksmith and have then perform a lockout service.
