It is rare that this will help, but sometimes if you fill the fuel tank all the way to the top of the fuel inlet (where you put gas in) it can "unstick" the float.
One possible reason a float sticks is someone overfilled the tank.
The only reason fuel will come out of the throttle body is if an injector is stuck open. I would recommend running seafoam cleaner through the gas if it still runs. If it doesn't, try to locate which injector is stuck and tap on it with a screwdriver to see if it will unstick. With a long screwdriver to your eat you should be able to touch the other end to the injectors and hear them. If you can't hear it flow with the engine off, you should hear them click when it's running. If one doesn't click it's likely you're culprit.
if there is no fuse for the gauge then the floater in the gas tank for the gauge is stuck. unfortunately this requires removing the fuel pump to unstick it. can try sea foam or another fuel system cleaner but no guarantees that that will work
Have you ever put in the gasoline tank any injector cleaner yet because the cleaner will unclog the injectors so full amounts of gasoline can get into the piston chambers the right amounts so try putting injector cleaner into your gas tank. When you put this into the gas tank to remember that it takes time for the cleaner to get to the injectors so you might have to keep trying to start the vehicle many times for the cleaner to unclog the injectors. This will not hurt your vehicle at all so go try this.
sounds like you just need to replace it as some of these cleaners you put in your fuel tank can actually make matters worse. I learned my lesson the hard way.
chevy and gmc trucks have an on going problem with this, turn the key on,and get a rubber mallot or a hammer and hit the bottom of the fuel tank a couple of times, this will unstick something in the fuel pump/sending unit.
have you changed the spark plug ?? just switch with another cylinder ,if problem moved to other cylinder its the plug.if it is still in same cylinder fuel injector is probably stuck open, with engine running using a bar and hammer tap lightly on injector just enough to vibrate might unstick. could also try Chevron techron fuel injector cleaner as i know it actually works. if not replace the injector
Fords are common for this. You can try to replace the choke, spark plugs, and air filter. Clean the carburetor (You can pour transmission fluid in the carburetor to clean it. This will loosen you valves and clean the carburetor. This will cause it to smoke, but it will not last long.) and put fuel cleaner in the gas. Change the fuel filter. In other words do a good tune up. Try NGK spark plugs. Carbureto might also need adjusting.
