Disconnect the fuse for the alarm system or unplug horn relay system to change battery if you unplug fuse you will have to reset the alarm, be sure you know how to do this before disconnecting the fuse to the alarm system. Hope this helps.

Need the year make and model. Some will disable the alarm with the key turned on. Some have procedures you have to do. I don't know them all though.

How do you stop the alarm if the battery is dead.

The battery cannot be dead if the alarm is going off. however it might be to low to start the car and cause this situation. I would use the alarm remote to reset the alarm or un-hook the ground cable on the battery. Or charge the battery.

Car wont start

Sounds like you have a shorted wire causing a drain. I recommend disconnecting the alarm all together which should stop the short so battery can remain fully charged.
