Actually the newer cherokees are a little more complicated, it's not a reminder for an oil change. It is for an emssions service that should be performed according to the dealer. Here is the rest procedure

Turn ignition to on position, but do not start.
Depress brake pedal fully twice.
depress excellerator very slowly twice
Turn ignition off & that will reset the perform service indicator.
I am mechanic & we are getting frustrated because the dealers do not want to release this info to anyone, they want your money! Can you believe if you did not get them to perform the service they charge you a 1 hour shop rate??

The perform service indicator that is reading in your odometer display simply is reminding your to change your oil. This function will display after approx. 6000 miles as a reminder to change the oil. You can reset it by holding in the the trip-ometer button for a few seconds until it disappears, however do not get used to reseting....change the oil a.s.a.p, it will pay off in the long run, extending your engines life.

On our Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005 the perform service comes on for the first minute after starting, then disappears. I have used a code reader under the dash and no message appears.

05 GC
i guess you lost the operators guide, as do most post here.
buy one?
its not an error, DTC are errors
the 05 that is a DO SERVICE light, all new cars have this.
the way it works is
you drive
lamp comes on
they do the service, and they turn it out
or you do it and then turn it out.

that simple.
so then you ask, how to turn it off.
answer, posted 1million times, (goggle it)

here ill type that for you, no problem.

or get the operators manual.
here it is for free.
down load it and keep it. (read it, it covers this 100%)

I got 2005 grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi I did the service 4wd I just need to know is there a way to reset the worning that always on the screen (even when I'll change it to somthing else it come back).

if the message "service 4wd" is appearing than there is a problem with the four wheel drive system. It does not mean the four wheel drive needs to be serviced (fluids changed, etc.).

Did you make any repairs to the four wheel drive system?

On my 2000 jeep grand cherokee information center is displaying perform service i would like to know what i have to do to fix it

The perform service message tells you when you need to change oil. To reset it turn the key on and press the step button until miles to service is displayed (it should say 0 underneath). Then press and hold the reset button until it changes from 0 to 3,000 miles. Then start the vehicle. The message should no longer be displayed.

The ABS Light and msg cnter on 2005 Jeep cherokee is coming on.

You have to check you brakes yourself or take it to the shop, I had a brake light on and once I change the rotors and brake pads the brake light went off.
