If I accelerate slowly from a stop. vehicle gradually picks up speed.. But if i put the pedal down hard it seems to choke, the rpms race up but no acceleration unless i let off the pedal to say half throttle.. this happens in any and every gear on town streets and on the interstate. Ive changed plugs and filters all to no prevail.. No problem reving the engine while in park, no stutter and no choking..
Try replacing the Mass Air Flow Sensor, it is in line from the air filter box to the carb. Could have come unplugged or gone bad. They are not made to be cleaned or touched inside (that usually leads to damaging it). Good luck.
Testimonial: "Thanx for guiding me in the right direction. I ended up just unplugging 2 connectors from the air cleaner assembly."
Seems like a transmission issue, sounds like its slipping try fushing out the transmission, but i have only seen several come back from this attempt at saving them, many will not recover and have to be rebuilt or replaced.
