your problem i think that is not a fuse the problem might be in the door ajar switch that its in the door latch some times you can correct the problem just spraying some lubricant to the latch and open and close the door for several times since you don't know exactly wish door is with the problem i suggest you to lubricate all the door latches and see in the door ajar light comes of if not you will need a technician that help you solve this problem
Hi, There are several causes I would look for. Each
door has a door button that indicates if the door is closed, or turns
on the interior light if it is open. Do the following.
1 Check to make sure all of the doors are closing properly. You may have one that looks like it is, but is not.
2 Close all doors 3 Open the driver's side door. 4
find the button (or buttons) and push on them in and out to see if the interior light goes off. You may have to hold the button in because of the delayed shut off. It may be a good idea to wear a glove as the switches are often made of metal. If the light does go out than see if the switch can be adjusted. outward. Often they can be. If The driver's side door doesn't solve it, try the passenger side. Repeat the sequence for the rear doors as well.
(Note: the inoperative switch may have a broken off tip, so it may be necessary to replace it. )
In my experience it inevitably is the button. Hope this helps,
This is usually caused by the door ajar switch not making contact. The door switch is part of the door latch on the F-150.
Liberally spray the door latch with WD-40, close and open a few times. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times, and check the interior lights / door ajar indicator on the cluster.
There are pictures of where to spray in a sticky in the Electrical forum on F150online.com if you need them. This is a somewhat common problem, to get dirt and gunk in the door ajar switch, causing the contacts to stay open.
How often do you see all the door ajar switches stuck ? Come on ! This is probably a GEM module problem ! GEM - generic electronic module . The real thing to do ,( not try ) would be to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !
THE SWITCH MIGHT BE STUCK! OPEN YOUR DOOR, LOOK FOR A BLACK ROUND SHAPE BUTTON AND GRASP THE ROUND EDGES WITH YOUR FINGER AND PULL OUT AND SEE IF YOUR DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON, ALSO CHECK THE FUSES AND LAST CHECK YOUR INTERIOR LIGHT BULB. GOOD LUCK!
When my "door ajar" light was on it was because the liftgate sensors (switches) indicated that the gate was open, even thought it wasn't. I took off the plastic trim, and took out the sensors - but that isn't necessary. Just soak with the switches with silicone spray, and see if that helps. There is one on each side of the liftgate - I believe both must indicate "closed" for the light to go off.
I have gotten replacement motors at Checkers for both driver and passenger doors - so now I have lifetime replacement motors.. The first time you replace them, a little drilling is needed on the door sheet metal, but it will not show up once the trim is reinstalled. This repair is a little involved, but well within the capability of a novice mechanic.
I disconnected the battery and after I reconnected it all is well !
