I changed the oil when dash was showing 10% oil life but after the oil change a week later its now saying 5% oil life change oil soon... how do i fix this????

After an oil change, you need to reset the oil change reminder. Your owners manual should have the instructions on this. If not, search on the web for the how to do this.

Why is my oil life percent is 9 and can I drive still or I have to change engine oil soon for the mercury mountaineer 2006

Regular maintenance is needed for oil changes. If your oil level is dropping you need to keep it up to operating level but you do need to find out why it is burning or losing oil. If your oil is black then it needs to be changed regardless of the miles on it.

I had the oil changed a few weeks ago in my mercury mariner 2007 this morning when i was driving the change oil soon message came on can you tell me why

They probably did not reset the system after the last oil change. Take it back to the mechanic and ask them to reset it.

before you do though, check the oil level to make sure the oil looks fresh and is at the full mark. - you should always do this after every oil change. I have seen cases where the oil got drained, the local drug dealer came by and no one put oil in the car, or they didn't drain it and added new oil to what was already there - very messy problem to fix later.

How often do you need to change the oil? When we purchased it, the sticker said 5,000 miles. We got an oil change a couple months ago and the new sticker put on says 3,000 miles, the change oil soon...

the standard has always been 3000 miles,,,dont mess with these that claim more,,,carbon build up is the leading cause of faliure,,and the oil is the blood of your engine,,keep it changed,,put some injector cleaner in couple times a yr.,,water remover couple times in winter and you will get long service from your vehicle.

Reset the change oil light on 2006 mercury mountaineer

On the console, where the oil change light is on, scroll through the items until you get to oil life. Once at oil life, hold the reset button and it will say Engine oil new. Press reset again and this should set you oil life back to 100% .
