I have a 97 Toyota Camry and have had a leak on the drivers side for over a year and can't trace it. I have been told it was the windsheil and replaced it, have replaced under plug, have tore up carpeting and side paneling looking and still when it rains I have standing water on the driver side floorboard. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Chrysler Sebring Problem

Under the cowl in front of the lower front windshield where the wipers are, there are 2 drain holes for water that follows the inside of the fenders. If these holes become plugged with leaves, pine needles or anything else, the water will find a way into the car somewhere else in the firewall.

SOURCE: torque settings for big ends on a 97 toyota camry 220sei

On the V-6 it's 25 Nm (18 ft lbs) on the first pull and then you rotate the next pull 90 degrees using a torque angle wrench.

Checking the specifications for the four cylinder:
25 Nm (18 ft lbs) on first pull and 90 degrees
on the second pull using a torque angle wrench.

SOURCE: water is seping into the car floorboard when I use

The AC hose that is suppose to drain water outside the car beneath is gone bad wherein water that is suppose to go outside the car is getting drained in the car and the front passenger side to be precise.

Trace the hose and reset it to flow out under the car.

SOURCE: Wet passenger side floorboards - not rain related,

a/c drain stopped up. I dont know if you get to it. its a little rubber line under the car, approx where the passengers feet will be. sometimes you can get a piece of wire to unclog it, or if you have access to a air comressor, blow some air up into the hose. You will know when you unclog it, a big rush af water will come out.

SOURCE: water leak to floorboard on drivers side. Carpet

It it happens when it is raining. This seems to be a common problem with Vehicles.

There is a seal on the passenger side Hood Hinge area. If this seal is cracked or broken or missing you will get water in the car every time it rains.
The water runs down the windshield in to the Hing area under the Hood.

You may need to take the hood off to get to the seal. First pour water over the area, if it comes in the car there is your problem.

You can seal it with any water proof silicone sealer .

I have a leak on driver's side inside 88 camry. It's color is red. Any thoughts?

For many years a reddish colored fluid leak usually meant a transmission or power steering leak. But with all the multi-colored antifeezes on the market today, it's possible it could be antifreeze.
My advice is to check all three fluid levels. Whichever one is low will probably turn out to be the
system that is leaking.

Hi.

The thermostat housing is built in with the water inlet pipe. The pictures below show the thermostat in different engines used in Camry from the same year:

Car is leaking fluid under driver's side - checked the oil levels and it seems fine... (i drive a 97 toyota camry) in addition, i blotted tissue on the leak - it seems like it was almost a dark red,...

A dark red or burgundy color fluid most likely means you have a transmission fluid leak.

Warm you car up for 5-10 minutes and check your transmission fluid level while it's running and you will likely find it to be low.
