Just need timing belt diagram 2002 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter. I changed my plugs, car turns over starts for a minute makes loud sound in the engine, kind of back fires

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

This a dificult and time consuming project. Suggest you purchase you a repair manual which gives you diagrams and detailed instructions for this type of repair. Difficult to explain procudure in writing.

Sounds like the motor is going out. 2.7s are bad about rod bearings going out. If you don't use the correct weight oil, and change it every 3K, they don't hold up too well.

DID THE BELT BREAK AND THEN IT WAS CHANGED. If so then you may have bent valve. IF NOT then vehicle may be timed wrong. Google 1997 Dodge 3.5 liter Engine Mounting Diagram. Same for the 2002 engine. I guarrantee you will find it.For some strange reason you would'nt call your local Dodge dealer and ask them where you can go to on the web and locate it.
