Before you start running around trying to figure out were the distributor is on your eclipse, it doesn't have one, I do not believe that your problem is the coil pack unless when the car is getting ready to die and you, having massive miss fires, I have had that problem once but the car didn't die, it just ran really rough, now a good place to start is the fuel pressure like stb513 said.

Check your distributor cap to make sure no oil got in there also check your fuel pressure regulator to see if its a normal pressure any shop can tell you what it should be so just call and ask the fuel pressure tester is about 45 dollars at autozone

My 96 grand cherokee acts like it is not getting gas

I have a 96 also and also had that problem #1 get the fule filter replaced.. #2 get some car/injector cleaner in the gas. #3 get some spray for carb and open up the air filter and shoot the cleaner in while running the engine.. You also can change the spark plugs and roter and cap and do a nice tune up and it will run like a new car..

What is all needed for a tune up on a 1995 volvo 960

I usually service Ford family Brands and will try to assist you. Back in 1995 there was a change to longer service life sparkplugs and the elimination of Distributors with Crankshaft sensor firing of the plugs. It really depends on the Manufacturers' idea of when to replace sparkplugs by mileage and the various filters on the engine.

You can install plugs and filters anytime you want; just a matter of prematurely spending money on something you do not need. Air filters 12,000 miles, Sparkplugs 50,000 to 100,000 miles, Serpetine Fan Belt 40,000 to 45,000 miles, Fuel filter 25,000 to 45,000 miles.

Check with Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys for information about Manufacturers specs. Stay on an oil change interval based on your driving habits. Sometimes oil breaks down without higher miles and you need to change by date rather than by use. Clean oil for Winter starts, clean oil for Summer driving. Twice a year is adequate for low mileage. Watch your Antifreeze, it chemically changes after 3 years and loses corrosion inhibitors.

I hope at least some of my suggestions are useful to you.

Wondering what needs to be replaced in the 60,000 mile tune up.

My dealership's 30/60/90 etc.. service is engine oil & filter, chassis lubrication, rotate & balance tires, replace engine air filter, replace in-line fuel filter, exchange transmission fluid, exchange engine coolant.Spark plugs at 90k.

What does a major tune up for a 2004 chevy impala consist of? What should be done and needs to be done?

New spark plugs, oil and oil filter, transmission flush and fill, fuel filter, air filter, coolant flush and fill, clean throttle body plate and bore, clean the MAF sensor, replace any loose or cracked vacuum lines, PCV valve, new air filter, new battery.

99% of the time all you should ever need for a tune up is new spark plugs, and a clean air filter and throttle body. But since your inquiry indicated "major" I gave it more critical thought.

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

The problem that you are experiencing right now has nothing to do with you guys overfilling the car with oil. The problem right now is with the MAP sensor located in the intake manifold. Have it cleaned and checked. The same symptoms happened to me twice, 3 years ago and 2 months ago. I simply replaced the MAP sensor and the problem went away.

I hope this helps as it has helped me. Have a nice day.

I have a eclipse 96 I tried to repair the

did you change fluid and filter this is just as important as an engine oil change. also a automatic transmission has things called bands that change the gears and hold overdrive in they also need adjusting every 30,000 miles. if not they will cause your transm, ission to slip. and burn up atf fluid.

My toyota tacoma is missing when taking off and

It's probably not the fuel filter. I would suggest replacement sparkplugs, and wires, since you did not nmention these items. Also, use plugs from a Toyota parts dept. If you use anything else, it won't run properly.

In last week mpg went down 4 and car runs fine. Has new air filter, oil change. about 45000 miles. does not make any un usual sounds has good accel and no leaks etc.

Your two biggest contributors to gas mileage, good or bad, when it comes to the engine and electronics, are the mass airflow sensor and the primary oxygen sensor (the one before the catalytic converter on a 96 or newer car). Since it's running smoothly, I would not expect it to be spark plugs, wires, or distributor related. I would look into changing the O2 sensor if that hasn't been done. Those are wearable items that are usually due for replacement every 60k miles or so, but with 45k, if you do most of your driving in town, yours could be getting too carbon-covered to read properly.

As a sidenote, make sure your tires are inflated to about 34-36psi (I'd go more for 36) - being low on air in one or more tires will create a lot of additional drag and can significantly affect your mileage.
