The first thing I would do would be check the fluid level in the radiator. Sounds like the car is overheating under load due to lack of coolant. If the coolant level is ok then the radiator cap may be leaking pressure and causing the car to overheat.
When a Cadillac (Northstar) overheats, It will give the message to change the oil. If you run a Northstar and keep running it long enough it will start shutting off cylinders and stop the A/C compressor to help protect itself. In this condition I would check for a blown headgasket. Possibly your technican will find the problem. Could also be stuck thermostat, dirty radiator Thanks
It may be temperature sensor on radiator. Dashboard gets info from it. If this sensor is not good, ac will stop and dashboard willl show some strange temperatures.
The coolant thermostat needs replaced or you need a coolant flush. Heater cores (in the dashboard) often clog and stop warm coolant from circulating into the heater. A coolant flush would cure this. Flushes usually run from 70 to 90 dollars to have done at a service shop.
Get a scan code for it. free at AutoZone and other parts stores. It could be the Temperature coolant sensor that's about to go. It will stop the fans from turning if it does.this can lead to overheating and damage to your car.Replace if nessesary.
