The temperature gauge does not go up and I cannot get heat in the cab
You have a faulty thermostat in your jeep. the thermostat is on the engine where the top cooling hose attaches to the motor. it will look like a small valve type thing with a spring that holds the brass part against the steel. if you are replacing this yourself than you will want a 195 thermostat.

If the thermostat is stuck open then yes you would never heat the water enough to heat your jeep. the thermostat cycles with a set temperature open/close and switches the engine water with the radiator water keeping the engine cool but also providing hot water for your heater core. another possibility would be your system is low on fluid, no fluid no heat and this can dammage your jeep. Good luck

see i you have any codes may be a temp sensor if you dont have a code reader you can still get the codes by putting key in ignition turning it on but not starting it 3 times after the third time the engine light will blink a series of times like morse code. be perpared to jot down the number of blinks the ligh gives of there should be a slight paulse between codes, there also is usually a start and end code thsi may take a few time to get it ..once you have the numbers you can google the code and find the problem googleex (Jeep trouble code 55) you can use this trick on any chrysler car from 80 on up possibly earlier.
