starter wont turn or engages the flext plate, flywheel and still wont turn engine over?if this is the case you have a seized up motor, but if it doesnt even click check signal wire from ignition switch for power when you turn the key to crank.if no power your ignition switch,park/neutral safety switch(clutch switch if manual trans) or wrongly installed wired could be the problem.
Check wiring to your starter make sure all the wires are secure. Its mainly sounds like you need a new starter. If you hear it clicking it is likely engaging just not spinning
So the problem has been occuring for a year and you are just now trying to fix it? Sorry, I just simply do not understand why people do this...keep driving it until it won't drive anymore even though you KNOW it has a problem....Maybe you can explain this to me???
If you can hear the starter clicking when you try to start it, then you have a bad starter. If it makes no noise at all. then you most likely have a bad clutch switch.
That symptom usually means the solenoid on the starter is bad and no longer is completing the circuit to engage the starter. A new starter will likely solve that issue.
A series of rapid clicks would indicate a week battery.
You can try repeatedly turning the key to the start position rapidly, sometimes the starter wil start working.
You can also try tapping the starter while somebody holds the key in the start position, if the starter engages place it.
yes, key was programmed but new key does not work except to turn on ignition--dash lights heater fan etc. no starter when turning to start
THEN OFF TO THE DEALER YOU GO.
was the key programmed?
