04 Pontian Montana DVD, dead battery

About 1 week after the DVD screen quits but sound keeps playing, the van wont start (even if van was only shut off for 2 min.)...boost it and van works fine for a few months till screen quits. Have installed a new battery. Battery will only have about 5.5V when wont start. Once boosted will have 14.8V from alternator. The van has sat over the last week for 2 days and started fine, then sat over night and then not even enough power to operate remote PDL

Took mine to autozone and had it put on the machine and was told its the voltage regulator on the alternator. Had the same problems as you so we will see. Hopes this helps.

Pontaic not fire while reading code p0463

Something in your ignition system or circuit must have quit. The code does not seem to be related. Have you checked for spark?
There is a good read here on the code-a complete run through of what to check.

My 2002 pontiac montana security and battery light flashing and now it wont start

you could have a bad alternator not keeping the system at the appropriate level of charge. Or check the battery, replace with other known battery that is good and see if this fixes the problem. Clean all battery terminals. Dead shorts in battery can really create problems and sometimes can load test good but on the low side. Try the battery swap first if you have access to one

MY BATTERY KEEPS DYING

Either you have a dead cell in the battery, or something draining the power in the van.
A mechanic would take the battery out and have it tested, then check each circuit in the van for a power drain.

My 99 pontiac montana van misses and backfires then quits and runs battery down

Missing is usually ignition problems

Backfiring-timing issues or possibly lack
of fuel

Repeated dead battery that is over 4 years old
you have to replace.

I would first change the spark plugs & then
suspect a timing chain issue

Just have to go over the entire engine, one item
at a time

You can not just shot gun the problem or expect
an internet guess

The vehicle has to be looked at & things tested

My 1999 Pontiac Montana starts fine, and then sometimes dies

The starting /keep running issue is probably a slow IAC (idle air control)Next time turn the key on,wait 3 or 4 seconds then start,if it keeps running after that wait time everytime,it most likely is the IAC,,,,,,no big deal.
How long does the van sit when it has a dead battery?

Radio quit playing now car wont start cannot shift into nutrial

The first thing to check is the battery, if the battery is dead try jump starting it with another car or use another battery, if it then starts you should have the alternator tested, most autoparts stores do this at no charge, it may be that the alternator is not keeping the battery charged.
