2004 Avalanche Electrical Failure

Last night, all dash gauges remained lit but dropped to '0' for a few seconds, all dash warning lights flash, and engine dies for a second. Mirror compass alternates between all LCDs lit and actual compass info. Driver info center resets showing 'Driver 1'. Engine stumbles, but continues to run. All lights stayed lit and no external lights seemed to be affected. This happened 25 times in 8 miles. An experience to be sure. This 2004 Avalanche had the underhood fuse block replaced under warranty. Currently has 60,000 miles showing on odometer. Battery is less than a year old.
I have checked nothing as yet..Trying to get a head start for research and repairs. i will check battery cables first, then proceed from there.

Any other ideas or the typical ignition switch problem? Thanks for reading and hopefully offering solutions.

Oil Pressure gauge stuck at maximum, coolant gauge stuck at maximum, speedometer erratic (either not working or working after startup)

The oil pressure gauge on my 2003 Avalanche reads "0" and activates low oil pressure warning. Oil level is OK and engine does not sound like one with with no oil pressure; AKA no knocks or ticking. The mileage is 50,000 on this vehicle any ideas as I with no gauge I am leary of driving it? Please advise!

Air Bag warning light is lit

it means the air bags are inoperative, maybe a fuse or an open circuit, best to have someone with electrical knowledge look at it

My oil gauge drops to zero, but everyhting appears to be working. could the oil pump be out? How can I tell?

you would need to remove the oil pressure sending unit beside the oil filter and hook up a gauge to verify it.
but if you had "0" it would be knocking really bad,so I think I would try replacing the oil sending unit, thats what tells the gauge on the dash to register.they are about $15.00 at Autozone

04 avalanche- suddenly windows, locks, radio and heated sets dont work, dash board shows airbag light, charge light check engine light, fuel gauge not working, oil change message indicator shows 0 zero oil...

Check for fuses and fusible links that may be tripped or blown.

Next, check for grounding issues someplace easy to reach like the heated seat connectors.

Most dummy lights work by choosing the warning light path over the circuit path when the circuit path is higher resistance. Which may explain your dash warning lights.

So, what I am trying to say is...you are looking for a open ground in a big big place....like under the hood at one of the major fuse/relay/fusible link points.

Check it out. Good luck and be careful.
