Auburnconsul did not have a good answer for you. Look in the owner manual. There is no dipstick for tranmission oil. The fluid is removed and replenished from underneath the car.
Get a transmission funnel. it is wide and has a flexible tube. remove your dipstick. unless you have just replaced the filter or transmission add fluid by the pint to a transmission. get the fluid with the car running and in park. you will need to add some. wait for it to settle,. start the car and repaet till full.

Manufacturers suggestion is DEXRON® VI Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
The transmission in 05 that one has a filter and takes close to 7 quarts. It has a level hole, no dipstick. You fill it idling in park till it just starts to come out of the level hole.
If you have no leaks dont worry about it. Just get it serviced if its time. Alot of cars are this way now. You need to be under the car to drain and fill. My BMW is this way
mine did the same thing. Where the steering column goes through the firewall (floor) there is a rubber seal. That seal has gotten dry. Apply a small amount of lube where the shaft goes through and turn the steering wheel. This helped eliminate my squeal.
the dipstick is located behind the front transmission mount and its held in by a 12mm bolt. you may need to remove the transmission mount to check the fluid. the color of the dipstick is yellow, make sure the car is in park and fully warmed up to operating temerature and on a level surface before checking the fluid.
