Most likely the idler pulley
remove the drive belt
there is a pulley just below the alternator that's the idler pulley
you may be able to spin the pulley and hear the noise if not
remove the pulley 13mm or 15mm bolt after u remove spin the pulley on you finger there will be a roughness or a grinding noise
replace the pulley
hope this helps

Most of the time when a pump goes bad in starts to leak after you shut off the engine. May not be much and it may or may not leak enough to see it on the ground. Look around the water pump and see if you can see any wet spots and look at the water pump it self and it has weep holes one on the bottom and top see if you see any leakage from there if so the pump is bad

Fan pulley loose, but four bolts that hold fan on are tight, like something is loose behind pulley on my 2003 chevy trailblazer/vortec 4200

Hi Cro,Seems to me as if you may have a problem with your water pump. If your vehicle is loosing coolant, that will confirm it. With the engine off and the key removed from the ignition open the hood and check for any looseness in the water pump by taking hold of the fan blades and shaking back and forth (If they're plastic be careful not to apply to much force, or you may break them!). If there is play you'll need a replacement pump!Best regards Johngee10

Fan pully is loose and making noise

Assuming the bolts are not loose, when mine was doing this it turned out to be the water pump was going bad. The fan pully is bolted to the water pump

It sounds like your water pump bearing is shot. Water pump needs to be replaced. The fan clutch also needs to be checked out, the clicking could be an indication that the clutch is going. This may have happened because of the play in the water pump.

My trailblazer is making a grinding noise where the fan goes into the motor and it is loose

the fan clutch may be bad, very common, but check the water pump also. Fan clutch failure is common, you may be ahead to replace that if the pump is bad.
