I would like to avoid using a FM transmitter to use

2005 Avalanche
I would like to avoid using a FM transmitter to use my IPod and or IPhone. What would be the best way to do this?

Ideally any solution would also allow me to continue to use my stearing wheel controls and charge the, " I " device as well.

There are harnesses that go inbetween the existing radio and the car that allow for an ipod hookup. The cost of these is a little high. I opted for a new radio for my 2005 Malibu for this reason, but I still needed a adpter harness because the cars computer doesn't just allow you to replace the radio with althing you want.
So for these harnesses, you pull of the connector of the back of the radio and install this new one. Check ebay for this.

I was wandering the same thing, but another option is a AM/FM Transmitter. you can buy one at stores like best buy. You plug your Music Device (iPhone, iPod..etc.) into it and it transmits it to a AM or FM band so you can tune into it with the AM/FM function and listen to your music so you dont hvae to buy a new radio.

I have a factory radio in my yukon and want to use my Ipod in the truck. Does it have a usb connect and how do I get to it?

if it has a cassette player, get a cassette that has an mp3 attatchment at the end, could be bought at a radioshack, if no cassette player, then get an fm transmitter, it hooks up to your ciggarette lighter, if it has none of those, then get a new stereo headunit.

its in the radio itself. either replace the unit with an aftermarket radio(such as one from bestbuy) or from the dealer(however the dealer unit will probably run about $1500-2000. you can get a real nice one for about $300-400 and installed.

Stereo removal guide for a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible

Gently pry the surround using a plastic tool. There are two catches on the top and two on the sides at the bottom.
With the surround off, you will see the screws holding the stereo.
If there are preamp jacks in the back, it is eaxy to add an aux post using an adapter cable. If there are no input ports, you will need an oscilloscope to find the preamp circuits inside the stereo. Only do this if you know what you are doing and are good with an oscilloscope and soldering iron.
