I would not interchange parts.it best to replace original parts.dont matter if coils look the same.still buy the original coils.2003 to 2008 is a 3 year difference.

According to my cross reference, the coil for 2008 528i is the same as 2003 525i.

You should use the same brand of coil so the internal resistance is the same.

is it a 98 or a 2008, couple advice, use high actane gas only,NO 87 PLEASE ,make sure all vacuum hoses fit thight, check all mounts on your engine and tranny, check tranny fluid make sure it is not brown or black, the color should be red, check struts, axle and all suspension parts, check tire pressure, make sure tires are in good shape. BAD MAN WAGON OR BOB MARLEY AND THE WALIERS (BMW) very easy to maintain ,good luck mon and use castrol tranny oil for BMW only

Could a problem with the ignition switch on my 1996 E39 528i stop the windscreen washers working

doubt it, a faulty ignition sw would affect a whole slew of "on" circuits it wouldn't funnel down to just the winshield washers.

a faulty relay would though. loose fuse contacts also

is check your sparkplug & ignition system
is it ok or not ,proper wired if not than clean up that connectors & than do again with checking your battery with another same model if started than its 100% fault about your ignition sysytem coil ,

go to your service center they can solve this prob easily after all,
i hope so you dont have to go to center you ca do it yourself,as i had,
