Have the battery and alternator checked.
Either the alternator isn't charging, or the battery has a weak or dead cell and not holding a charge.

You need to get the battery and charging system checked. If your lucky its just a bad battery if its 4 or more years old.. Alot of batteries fail this time of year, The cold does it.

Why does the electrical system shut down and come back on after 2-43 mins

2008 Grand Caravan 3.8 SXT
car stalled driving, or starter dead 6am,

IF runs is the Charge/battery/gen , cluster lamp off
1: the batter lugs clean and tight, first.
2: fuses good
3: stater motor dead/ (silent, clicks , chatters or?)
HEad lamps are first
they work even no key near the car they work even engine missing.
so when HL fails the battery is dead
no battery ever lasted 15 years, is it?
my wild guess is this is battery #2nd one failure day!
died at 6/7 years now again. ( common as nails)
or alternator is/was dead, and now the battery is dead
or just DISCHARGED

4: so call AAA TOW AND ASK FOR A JUMP
OR BUY YOUR OWN JUMPER CABLES AND JUMP START IT/
OR CALL MOBILE AUTO TECHS. YP.COM

ONCE STARTED WE CHECK THE ALTERNATOR NEXT.
OR IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN FAST.

Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Do you know what an automotive electrical distribution diagram is ? Viewing wiring diagrams an testing for power flow through the system is the way to find the problem . Is there B+ voltage at the under hood fuse /relay box , main B+ cable to the starter etc...
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size . Under system click on electrical distribution then under subsystem click on power distribution . Click search then the blue links .

Starter wont engage. No clicking. all other electrical seems operational

I would try to jump start it! Sometimes all the rest of the electrical seems ok, but the battery won't have enough juice to activate the starter.

If that fails, i would check your connection from the battery to the starter itself!

Electical failure

What you have written seems strange. I understand that the vehicle stopped with ALL ELECTRICAL... This is a broke wire, Grounded to the Chassis, When you tried to Jump Start it, WHAT got HOT? Did you cross the Leads? I would be looking at the Wiring for where the Positive is now grounding out.

I jump started the car. It cranked properly. Let it run for a few then shut it off. Now it won't start. When I turn the key everything seems to "die".

You have a bad connection at the battery, cable ends, or between the battery and engine or starter.

2007 Chevy Aveo Sedan alternator issue? Could it be something like a fuse? Battery is new.

If the alternator is good and the battery is not being charged, yes there is a fuse or fuseable link between the alternator and battery.
If the problem comes and goes, like you can drive the car for several days then it acts up, I would look for a wiring problem.

My battery died completely , it takes a charge from a jump but will only turn over not start

The battery is most likely shot. Needs to be replaced. I would also inspect the alternator and/or might have an electrical short if you are uncertain of the reason your battery died in the first place.

Lost all electrical car died wont start

Will it start when you give it a jump or install a good battery? If it does the problem is your alternator. What most likely happened is the alternator quit working while you were driving and the car was relying on the battery directly to keep it going in which the battery completely lost power and shut the car off.

Seems to be electrical problem

What initiated the need for jump starting? Is the alternator charging? Has the battery been checked?

To check the alternator, once the engine has been jumped and is running, remove one of the battery post connections. If the engine dies, the alternator is not charging the battery, and the symptoms you describe are the on-board computer going through low voltage spasms until sufficient electrical power to operate the engine / tranny is drained and the car dies.

If the car continues to run with no battery attached, the alternator is charging - - - and I would recommend removing the battery and having it checked and (if good) recharged to full capacity. I would also recommend having it charged even if the alternator is the problem just to delay the onset of the low voltage problems. The car should operate normally for a few miles before the battery drains too low after a full recharge, enabling you to get it to a shop for alternator service / replacement.

If you attempt replacing the alternator yourself, make sure the battery is disconnected prior to starting the job. Saves blowing up good stuff by accidental short.

Hope this helps and good luck!
