Is the coolant at the correct level? Any loss of coolant so you must add it (if so, how much and how often). Do you have a air bleed bolt on the engine (usually near the thermostat). This could just be air in the system, which would cause both problems you describe (running hot, no heat). How long does it take to drive it for it reach overheating zone on temp gauge?
Ok, you must determine where the leak is and fix it. If you continue to drive it you will (or already have) have to replace the head gasket, or possibly the engine. Start it up and watch for leaks. Check around the water pump. If it is going bad, it will leak. The oil light going on at idle is not good. You need to check the engine oil pressure sending unit to see if it is working properly. Check to make sure your cooling fan is kicking on when the temp rises. If it isn't, the fan motor may be shot, or the switch that signals it to go on as the temp rises is not working.
Or the fan relay. check all these things.

I've been topping off coolant daily, and a lot. I've ran through 2 bottles in the past few days. Not sure about the air bleed bold. 10 minutes running and it's overheating. Also steaming but I'm not sure where the steam is coming from, looks like it's down under the overflow but I cannot see where. No check engine light, is that normal? Also, with the oil light, it will come on really dim when I'm on the breaks and when I stop to idle it is really bright and solid. If I accelerate the light will go off for a short time and then stays on solid.
