P2176=Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position Not Learned
Did you use all you old sensors,or is some of them from the new engine,I would swap out the IAC sensor or check for wires not hooked up.
If it can't relearn to idle the Idle air control might be different then your old one,but its not registering with the computer

try checking the vehcile speed sensor wires right by the pass side output shaft they rub on the steering rack and cause this same problem...

2006 chevy impala LT 3.5 V6. DTC P2135 and P2176. Engine power reduced has been happening intermitently. Shut the car off, wait a minute and restart. Starts and runs, engine light stays on and then goes off after sitting for a while. Paid chevy for a diagnostic and also to clean throttle body and reprogram. Was told if it continued happening I would need a new throttle body. Engine power reduced happened today, just one day after having chevy clean throttle body. Is replacing the throttle body the only fix?

Our 2006 impala has the exact problems. Did replacing the throttle body fix the problem? Hate to pay $500 for the repair if it doesn't work, but need to get the car going and reliable again! thanks for any help.

Two trouble codes p0128 and p2176

Po128 is that the engine has not reach operating temperature in a calculated time frame. Most likely cause is bad thermostat or low on coolant. P2176 is the throttle position sensor has lost its learned value. Throttle bodies with electric motor controls need to know closed position to maintain proper idle speed test sensor for proper voltage signals to power control module . This code is only tested once per ignition cycle.

Engine iddle speed need adjusting

You cant adjust it. Your car has a tps sensor " throttle position sensor " and a iac idle air control. these are both on the throttle body. is the check engine light on? The best way to check them is on a scanner at places like auto zone they will let you use one for free. and will help you do it. first check the codes if any then look at live data scroll down till you see tps and look at its values rev the motor up and it should change values are 0% to 100% no throttle to full throttle. at idle it should be 18 to 26 or so. if it doesnt change or its at a high number and no gas is being given then its bad. also look at the iac and see if it changes as well. you can also google the resistence values for each and ohm them out. It does sound like a bad tps. try that first , and the tps is easy to change

P2176 code

NO , gas cap not the issue here . the P2176 refers to throttle actuator control system - idle position not learned .... the test for this is a mile long , i would try clearing the code , and see if it returns , or it will reset itself if it see's 3 drive cycles without a failure . cheers.
