3 symptoms in random! one Car ! 2000 Impala 3800 1.starts then dies in a second. 2. starts good then idling and accelerating good for several minutes, then dies. 3. starts rough idling and very rough acceleration, then dies when let go. any idea of such a problem? thanks.

I tested MAF it shows the idling is improved when that is disconnected. thanksthat's awesome. I would do that.

I did replace the MAP sensor, and cleaned the MAF sensor as well, the car is much better, it's drivable, but hesitates and lacks power. The computer dignostic, says MAF is faulty also O2 sensor is faulty.

If this vehicle is equipped with the cableless throttle, you need to try this first:
remove the air intake hose
clean the throttle door with an aerosol throttle cleaner
replace air intake hose
Upon starting, you may need to apply gas slightly while starting to clear the throttle cleaning chemicals from engine, continue to hold accelerator to 2000rpm for about 2-3 mins
release gas pedal slowly to allow ecm to relearn idle.
This procedure allows the ECM to relearn the vehicle true idle position.
A number of very different problems can give you this symptom. First, you may not be getting adequate fuel to the engine. This could be caused by a clogged fuel filter or by a non-functional fuel pump. If you have an electric fuel pump (which I believe this car has), you'd want to check that electricity is getting to the fuel pump before you go through the hassle of changing out the pump.
Second, and more esoteric, you could have a problem with your security system. I once had a rental Chrysler that exhibited exactly the same symptoms that you describe: car would start but almost immediately shut down again. I eventually figured out that I had been given a key for a different car 2 spaces down from the one I had. The physical keys matched (locks worked, ignition switch turned smoothly), but the authentication computer chip in the key didn't match up to what the car wanted. These codes can become corrupted over time.
Personally, I'd start off with the fuel filter--your Impala has more than one, by the way--and work down to the key issue.
There is no idle sensor on the 2000 Chevrolet Impala, according to my online resource.
But, there is the following that senses rpm of the engine and thus the idle speed when the Throttle Position Sensor is at 5% or the accelerator pedal is not depressed:

Engine speed is a very important input to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Crankshaft speed and position are the basis for many calculations made by the computer. Crankshaft position values are transmitted to the computer by pickup coils also known as Permanent Magnet (P/M) generators, Hall Effect sensors or optical sensors. The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) also known as engine speed sensor is typically located in proximity to the crankshaft.
In addition, the PCM uses the CKP sensor in conjunction with the camshaft position sensor to calculate and perform misfire diagnostics. Related Symptoms
A No Start / Intermittent Start condition - Can be caused by a faulty crankshaft position sensor due to loose connections, bad grounds, high resistance in the circuit, or opens in the circuit.
Engine Misfire Diagnostic Trouble Codes
NOTE: Engine Mechanical conditions can also create the same or similar symptoms. (Don't overlook basic mechanical integrity).
Inspect and clean IAC valve (idle air control valve), replace if necessary. If IAC is Ok, please provide additional info!! Does your vehicle experience random or repeated hard starts?? Is your "service engine soon" light on?? These vehicles are known for faulty crank position sensor, usual symptoms are: hard starts, random/constant stalls, SES light on, misfire or no start. Some or all symptoms may or may not occur simultaneously.
CHECK THE IDLE SPEED SENSOR, UNPLUG IT AND SEE IF THE VEHICLE REVS UP A BIT. IF IT DOES, THEN REPLACE IT. ALSO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IN THE FUSEBOX. HOPE THIS HELPS. .LET ME KNOW. GOOD LUCK
