Did you replace the thermostat at any time? Never reuse a thermostat that has overheated.

What does the radiator look like? I had a 1997 Jimmy that sludged very bad at about 70k miles.

Testimonial: "thanks i did replace when the car first started overheating but then it blew headgasket so do i need to replace it again "

The heater core could be stopped up and the cooling system needs to be back flushed. Also if is is a V6 on some engines you can put the wrong gaskets on the wrong side of the block.

Alot of these newer model cars are bad about trapping air in the cooling system. ive had it take forever to bleed one free of air. you can try bleeding the system by loosening the bleeder screw on top of the waterneck or sometimes in the line itself.

It looks like your water pump on a 3.5L is run off the timing chain. I got some info which may help see it but may not be the exact as your car. If you are having some problems with overheating from what I saw looks like you have 2 thermostats and after changing thermostats, you can have air trapped in your engine, which will still allow engine to overheat.

1991 pontiac grand prix le 3.1l overheating

I had an older vehicle that overheated. I flushed out the radiator twice, but it was so clogged up, I had to replace it, so check the radiator. If you inspect the radiator from the filler neck, you can see if there is crud build-up on the tubes. The problem could be the water pump. Typically when water pumps fail, they start to leak from the weep hole(s) on top and /or bottom. Is there any leak from the pump? If there is, that is indication that the pump need to be replaced. Hope this helps !

Antifreeze leak from rear of engine on pontiac grand prix

Rule out leak from water pump. What engine is it - 3.0 3.8. Could be intake manifold gasket. Have the cooling system pressurized, about 12 lbs. and look for leak, bubbles.
check oil for coolant in oil also. Possible head gasket leak.

My 04 seabring is still overheating after replaceing the thermostat, and then wont start

If you have the 2.7L engine, you may have a bad water pump. The water pump is turned by the timing chain. When the water pump on those particular engines go out, tension on the chain goes away and retards the camshafts bad enough for it not wanting to start. Pull your oil dipstick out and see if you see signs of water in the oil. If there is, this is your problem. When the water pump goes out on those engines, it'll drain water straight into the front of the oil pan.

I have a 2006 pontiac grand prix 3.8l my heat only blow cold aair I checked the thermostat and the heart inlet hose is hot but the outlet hose is luke war what could this be maybe clogged heater core.

Ok fellow 2006 Grand Prix owners!! By trial and error, I went through the process of elimination because my car would over heat and had no heat inside. After changing the thermostat, I had to replace the water pump. However, after you do this, you need to open the inlet hose bleeder and let the air out a few times. This solved my issue of overheating and I now have great heat!!!
