How do i know if the temp blend door is broke?

There is no heater control valve. The temp of the water is always the same and the air is now blended. The blend door is in the plenum and you should be able to see the levers for the blend and mode selector by looking under the dash. The blend door can stick or the attached parts can break.

could be your blend door or clogged heater core try flushing heater core wit water hose two hose on fire wall of car

either a blend door stuck or temperature control unit gone bad ---also try disconnecting the harness make sure contacts /pins are clean and in good shape and reconnect but more than likely blend door stuck

I am not a mechanic but I can tell you the problem is with the blend door actuator and the blend door valve. Unfortunately the entire dash has to be removed to get to the heater case and replace the blend door. This seems to be a very common problem with the 2005 & 2006 Equinox. I just got mine out of the shop, luckily my extended warranty covered it. Research this online, there are plenty of posts about the problem.

It is in the dash. You need to drop the steering column and remove the dash to reach it.....approx 10.5 hrs mechanical labor just for the dash.......

Seems like your mode door actuator for hot cold has failed. Temp Mode Door Actuator needs replaced

If the blower is blowing air just fine, but you cannot control the temperature, you need to listen to air coming from the vents while turning the temperature from hot to cold. If you do n ot hear any change in airflow, then you may a temperature door in the dash broken. this is becoming a common problem on the Equinox
