Replace the oil pressure sending unit its giveing a false reading . The problem is when the engine is cold the oil pressure is low and it takes a little time to build up whem cranking the engine and that sends a signal to the computer PCM /VCM what ever but your 40 to 60 lbs oil pressure is graet its ideal .The unit switches when the oil pressure is high enough to trip the switch inside the sending unit and that is sent to the vehicle control module
the 1st thing to do is hook up a mechanical test gage and see what the pressure really is, the one used in the truck is electronic and u could have a sending unit problem, if the mechanical test gage show the same readings u will need a new oil pump, this assumes the engine doesn't have any bearing knock type noises
Have either autozone or auto discount...depending on your location, they will check it for free an tell you what the problem is.. they can reset it..however it will continue to come on until the problem is resovled
You probably recently had a new key made, and the Jeep ignition is chipped. The key has a sensor, and must be programmed to match the ignition. Some will start till you put it in gear, then it shuts off.
if pressure is higher than what it normally is after an oil change, you may have used the wrong grade of oil (too thick). Foam could be from overfilling, or from water in the oil (maybe antifreeze getting into the oil?).
At idle, at operating temp is there any ticking from top end of engine? Are there any knocking noises brom bottom end? If no noises, change oil and add some Marvel oil to clean out galleys. If that dosent work, change oil pressure sendingf unit. Also, if you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge, hook it up and take a direct reading. Oil pressure (in any vehicle) at idle should NEVER be less than 15psi. Generally in 4.0 jeep engines it's never less than 30, with a high reading at driving rpm of about 40-60! (but, you did not mention what engine you have)
