Check the exhaust for excessive back pressure, the symptom sounds like that or plug wires, but u replaced those so suspect exhaust restriction.

I would still have the exhaust back pressure checked, other things can cause back pressure like collapsed muffler baffles, seen it many times.

I know u don't have a converter, mufflers plug and so do double walled exhaust head pipes.

More than likely a restricted exhaust system (cat converter). Could be plugged air filter.

  • Anonymous Dec 04, 2009

Could be trash in the fuel injector screens.

When i start my mach 1 it runs fine when i use it for 5 to ten minets then when i go up a hill it bogs down and doesnt move and will die

Sounds like either your fuel pump and or fuel filter is bad. Change fuel filter first and try the hill. If it still bogs down sounds like fuel pump is almost ready to die. Get a pressure test run on fuel pump.

If above does not work then it maybe maybe your catalytic converter. Have it checked. Good luck

My step van 1987 when the van is running it shut down when is in

Did you chg. fuel filter after you chg. fuel pump? Is fuel pump relay working and cycling? Is ground and all connections on tank clean and tight and also ground to frame?

1997 GMC Savana - Car "stutters" when on incline or warmed up

their are a multitude of reasons the majority or the usual suspects are - if any codes have read and most auto stores offer this service for free --needs tune up ---egr valve carboned or failing --fuel pump /filter failing or partial clogging --catylic converter failing or clogging --injectors- tbi needs replacement or rebuild-- bad fuel any of these can cause such problems and not set off the check engine light

Van runs great until it heats up. generally about 15-20 min.

i would check to see if your fuel pump is working properly maybe first try replacing the fuel filter and running a fuel treatment.
