GM went to sealed transmissions. That car doesn't have a transmission dipstick.

There's a fill bolt that needs to be removed from the transmission while the car is on a level surface. If transmission fluid comes out, then you're at the proper level. Otherwise fill until fluid starts to come out. (Similar to what would be done on a manual transmission)

Look at the top of the transmission for a little red cap(like the oil fill cap) this is where you add fluid. If you want to check fluid condition, you need to remove cap and stick something in there and smear the fluid on a piece of paper to see color.

Hope this helps you out

How do you check trans fluid on 2004 crossfire

If an auto tranny there should be a dip stick.
If a manual tranny, there's a fill bolt near the top of the tranny, you have to :feel inside to check oil level.
I usually fill it till it starts to spill out oil, then recap and tighten the bolt.

1997 pontiac sunfire no ****** dip stick how much fluid to put in

It will probably be easier to take it to a regular repair shop to have it checked. There is a small bolt that comes out to verify fluid level after it's warmed up and still running. It's too hard to describe where the level plug is located and it can be dangerous to check & fill without experience.

Today I checked and added some tranny fluid to my 98 pontiac sunfire and now im having trouble shifting when i didn't before i checked it. what could be the problem?

as long as you didn't overfill the transmission, it shouldn't be giving you any shifting problems, unless , for some strange reason , there is a air blockage, and this is unusal, "next start the car up, and then let it run , while you pull out the transmission dip stick, and let it run for a very short time, while you go through the gears with the gear selector , then replace the dipstick, and re check the fluid level again, and then drive the car, and then see how it is shifting. also, make sure that the transmission fluid that you put in the car was the right kind for your car, " it should be dexron transmission fluid.

Where do you fill the auto tranns fluid??

It goes in the place where the dip stick for your transmission dip stick is. Check the level per the instructions from VW. WARNING: DO NOT OVER FILL

Warm the car by driving around the block. Find the tranny dip stick, pull it, wipe it and check it again. If the oil level in in the cross hatch area, the level is fine.

Where do you put transmission fluid?

mcdevito75 here, Trans. Fluid is put in the tranny from the dipstick, remove the dip stick, use a funnel with a hose attached, get this funnell and hose at any parts store. Also make sure the tranny fluid is for a GM car.

2006 ford taurus leaked tranny fluid out of dip stick

You need to find out were the fluid is leaking from first...
It may have been because the the dip stick was half way out...
Id just keep an eye on the fluid levels and if it stays the same than that's what it could have been.

Dip stick

You don't unless you can hook the car up to a computer. There isn't a dip stick. There is a procedure to follow that when the ATF gets to a certain temp. you open up the little drain hole on the bottom of the tranny. If anything drips out you are fine. If nothing drips out you are low on fluid. It isn't the most user friendly way of doing things but it keeps people from mesing with the transmissions and putting the wrong fluid in. The fill hole is towards the front side of the car on the transmission with a red safety cap covering a plug that pulls out. It might vary depending on which transmission you have, but probably not. I have the TDI engine and this is how mine is setup.
