The automatic transmission fluid fill location on a 2008 BMW 650i can vary depending on the specific model and transmission type, but generally it is located under the hood and accessed through a dipstick tube.
To locate the dipstick tube for the automatic transmission fluid, follow these steps:
1. Open the hood of the vehicle and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. The dipstick handle is usually yellow, red, or black and is labeled with "ATF" or "trans." 2. Remove the dipstick from the tube and wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel. 3. Reinsert the dipstick all the way back into the tube and then remove it again. The fluid level on the dipstick should indicate the current level of transmission fluid. 4. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add automatic transmission fluid. To add fluid, remove the dipstick and use a funnel to pour the fluid into the dipstick tube. Be sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid specified in your owner's manual. 5. Check the fluid level again with the dipstick to make sure it is at the correct level. Add more fluid as needed.
Note: It is important to follow the recommended procedure for checking and adding transmission fluid to your BMW 650i to avoid overfilling the system, which can cause damage to the transmission. If you are unsure about the location of the dipstick or how to properly add fluid, consult your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic for assistance.
The 1998 Chevy Malibu does not have a transmission dipstick. Instead there is a check plug located on the transaxle, near the pan, adjacent to the engine oil drain plug.
Note: the vehicle must be kept level when checking the transmission fluid level.
Place an oil container under the check plug and remove it. Observe the fluid as it drips into the pan, indicating correct fluid level. The fluid level should be at the bottom of the check hole. Double check to make sure the car is level. If no fluid drips from the check hole, some fluid should be added via the red cap. But add only a little at a time until the fluid is at the bottom of the check hole.
To check the transmission fluid level in your car you have to raise the vehicle up and take out the transmission fluid check plug in the transmission. It is locate just below and forward (Towards the front of the car) of where the right axle goes into the transmission housing. To fill it take the plug out then remove the red cap located on the upper side of the transmission housing. You will need a long funnel to add the fluid. Add fluid until it can be seen dripping out of the check plug under the car. Then replace the cap and reinstall the plug. (There is no dipstick on your car)
DONT HAVE ONE WHERE DIP STICK USE TO BE IS A RED VENT FILL CAP THATS WHERE YOU POUR TRANSMISSION FLUID. BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MADE FOR DEALERSHIP TO CHECK.THEY HAVE TO RAISE VECHICLE LEVEL AND ON THE TRANSAXLE HOUSING THERE IS A CHECK PLUG ITS LOCATION ITS ABOVE THE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG.WITH VECHICLE RUNNING UP IN AIR LEVEL ON THE LIFT.THE CHECK PLUG IS REMOVED IF NO FLUID COMES OUT CHECK PLUG HOLE ADD PINT DONT OVERFILL.IF FLUID POUR TOO MUCH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION IF SLOW DRIP FLUID LEVEL CORRECT.
02/'03 L200/L300's don't have
transmission dipsticks most likely reflecting Saturn's confidence of a
leak-free transmission, leaving only a red fill cap on the
transmission. The actual method for checking transmission level is a
very abnormal method; parking on a level surface, removing the
transmission oil level bolt/cap from the transmission, observing
whether or not fluid flows out. Excess fluid will flow out
automatically establishing the proper level and amount of transmission
fluid. Less would mean topping off by pouring some into the top access
fill hole and observing if fluid flows out the leveled drain hole until
fluid flows out. This would indicate proper levels and replacing the
top and access plug is all that's necessary. Messy as compared to the
old method. The access bolt will be sized differently from the other
bolts holding the transmission sump on. I would assume your '01 L200 is
the same. Use regular Dexron ATF red transmission fluid.
GM went to sealed transmissions. That car doesn't have a transmission dipstick.
There's a fill bolt that needs to be removed from the transmission while the car is on a level surface. If transmission fluid comes out, then you're at the proper level. Otherwise fill until fluid starts to come out. (Similar to what would be done on a manual transmission)
Look at the top of the transmission for a little red cap(like the oil fill cap) this is where you add fluid. If you want to check fluid condition, you need to remove cap and stick something in there and smear the fluid on a piece of paper to see color.
There is a red fill cap on the transmission bell housing under the brake master cylinder. You'll have to look real hard to see it. There is also a bolt on the passenger side of the transmission that you remove to check the level.
You have to fill the oil from the fill cap until it runs out of the bolt hole. Don't ask me why GM did this on a lot of their cars...
I found this after a little research, I don't own any GM products so it came as a surprise to me.
Ok, This trans doen't have a dipstick. The fill cap IS the red cap at the top of the trans. But to check oil level, a pipe plug needs to be removed from the trans case - under the passenger axle. Vehicle must be running in park and level. When the oil runs out of the hole it is full. If not add until it does.
