Its right behind the intake manifold. its a B*&^h to get off but you need a special tool you can get a most auto part stores. you have to make sure your #1 piston is TDC on your compression stroke. then drop in your sensor, align it to what your specs say

1993 Ford Ranger 4.0. Where does the spark plug gap on it?

It depends on the spark plugs that have been used. Some are pre gapped, some have three preset side electrodes around the edge. Gapping spark plugs is not as critical as the old days due to modern CDI ignition systems which give a much larger spark and huge improvements in spark plug technology.

Where is the cam sensor on a 92 ford ranger 2.3

This is one of those silly problems. Depending on which generation of the 2.3 engine it is some were fitted with cam sensors and others were not. Somewhere around 1993 and 1994 they started a model 'update' for the Ranger so you started to get 'cross over' issues. Some of the newer models were fitted with older model parts to clear any old stock they had left over. The sensor is usually mounted on the driver's side (left side as you drive) tucked behind the A/C pump.

Where is the cam shaft senser on a ford ranger 2.5 td 2002

Ford did not put a 2.5 in a Ranger, maybe a 2.3 ?

3.0 - The CMP sensor& synchronizer/shaft are located behind the intake manifold (i.e., back near the firewall on a Ranger) on the top of the cylinder block. If you just need to replace the sensor, it is a simple job of unplugging the electrical connector and removing the screws holding the sensor in place. Here is a sketch of the sensor to give you an idea what to look for:

How to remove a stsrter on a 1993 ford ranger

Hi. here's the procdeure on how to remove and replace new starte for your truck.

  1. Step 1 Disconnect the battery's negative cable from the battery using the battery wrench.
  2. Step 2 Lift the right front end of the Ranger with the floor jack and then lower it onto the jack stand. Make sure the jack stand is under the right front frame, but does not impede your access to the starter.
  3. Step 3 Climb under the Ranger with the socket set and unbolt the starter wiring using the socket set.
  4. Step 4 Support the body of the starter with one hand while you remove the two starter-mounting bolts with the socket set using your other hand. Do not let the starter rest on the loose bolts at any time during this process.
  5. Step 5 Set the old starter off to the side and hold the replacement starter in position. Thread the mounting bolts back in by hand and then tighten them down with the socket set. Once again, do not let the starter's weight rest on the bolts until you tighten them down fully.
  6. Step 6 Bolt the starter wiring to the new starter using the socket set.
  7. Step 7 Climb out and lower the Ranger off the jack stand using the floor jack. Reconnect the negative battery cable with the battery wrench.
