Misfiring can be cause by ignition coil, spark plugs, wires, engine valve, cylinder compression,
if it's a quad four then crack around the ignition coil. there is 2 coils like 1-4 coil and 2-3 coil
first check spark plug color or foul of gaz
hope it help
If you changed the #5 Coil then the code was wrong
You get lots of wrong codes on a ford, as a bad coil spikes the pcm when grounding out to fire the coils secondary side
Try putting the old coil back & walking the new one to another cylinder, may take many days & many miles of driving to get it fix,but better than a shop guessing, because they hate fords
It will either have a four cylinder 2.4 liter or a 6 cylinder 3.4 liter.
The 2.4 liter will have four plugs located under the cover on top of the engine. The cover can be removed by removing the four bolts with a 13mm socket, unplugging the connector on the drivers side, and lifting up.
The 3.4 liter will have three plugs on the fron and three plugs on the back. You can follow the plug wires from the coil to the spark plugs. Remove the wires from the plugs and remove/install.
If this is a four cylinder you will need to remove the plastic cover from over the valve cover, you will then find the spark plugs located deep inside the head on top. If this is a 6 cylinder the spark plugs are located in between the gaps in the exhaust manifold.
Do you have spark at the number four cylinder? Check that if spark is present , then you should swap the injector from four to five and see if the miss goes with the injector. If not then you will need to test the engine compression .
Without your actual trouble code, I am assuming that you are have a misfire on cylinder # 5. The computer cannot really tell what is causing the misfire only that cyl 5 is not putting out full power. If it misfires when cold then smooths out as it warms up, I would say it is probably an injector that is sticky, as it warms up it starts working properly.
Make sure you're using the recommended spark plugs. When my car did that, I had put Bosch Platinum Plus-4 plugs in and got that same problem. Turns out the plugs are too hot and cause it to fire prematurely and kick the misfire code.
