Very detaild but leaves out the detail on the mounting bracket (3 ea ) at the base of the area below the trunk lid. Where the bumper attaches to the body.I wonder if a special tool is required. I would appreciate any advice or comments.Regards GMF

How to remove cover rear bumper on a Nissan Quest 2008

To remove the rear bumper cover on a 2008 Nissan Quest, you can follow these general steps:
  1. Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure that the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is turned off. Put on safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself during the removal process.
  2. Locate the Fasteners: Look for the fasteners securing the rear bumper cover. They are typically located underneath the bumper cover, near the wheel wells, and along the bottom edge of the bumper.
  3. Remove the Fasteners: Depending on the specific model and trim level, the fasteners may be screws, bolts, or plastic clips. Use the appropriate tools, such as a screwdriver or socket wrench, to remove the fasteners one by one. Turn them counterclockwise to loosen and remove them. Keep the fasteners in a safe place for reinstallation later.
  4. Disconnect Electrical Connections (if applicable): If your Nissan Quest has any electrical connections, such as sensors or lighting, attached to the rear bumper cover, disconnect them carefully. Look for connectors near the edges or inside the trunk area. Gently detach the connectors by pressing the release tabs or using a flat-head screwdriver to release any locking mechanisms.
  5. Release the Clips: Once the fasteners are removed, there may be plastic clips or tabs securing the bumper cover to the vehicle's body. Carefully pry or release these clips using a trim removal tool or a flat-head screwdriver. Take care not to damage the bumper cover or the vehicle's body.
  6. Remove the Bumper Cover: With all the fasteners and clips released, gently pull or wiggle the rear bumper cover away from the vehicle's body. Start from one side and work your way to the other, ensuring that all connections and clips have been detached. Be cautious of any remaining electrical connections as you remove the bumper cover completely.
Please note that the exact steps and fastener locations may vary slightly depending on the specific trim level and optional features of your 2008 Nissan Quest. It's always recommended to consult the vehicle's owner's manual or a professional technician for more precise instructions tailored to your vehicle.
Take your time during the removal process to avoid any damage to the bumper cover or the vehicle's body. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing the removal yourself, it's best to seek assistance from a qualified technician or a reputable automotive service center.

Replace the Fog Light on a 2007 Nissan Altima

The fog lamp is mounted in your rubber bumper facia or cover. You usually have to remove the lamp from the back, eg. from under the vehicle and from the back of the lamp holder.

I assumed you asked, because you wanted to do it yourself and save time and money, and didn't see how it could be done from the front.

Poor choice of words on my part, you don't see anyone else rushing to help you, because it is not a difficult job, I lay on the ground and reach up, to do it on mine.

How hard is it to replace an altima rear bumper

Not particularly difficult but rather time consuming. You will first need to take the bumper cover off. This will reveal a styrofaom bumper over the metal one. Remove the styrofoam then you will see the bolts that attach the bumper itself. To re-install, reverse the proceedure.

I want to fit a towbar to my ford focus hatch 2008 model. What is involved in removing rear bumper Regards Brian Lamb

Pop the Hatchback open and remove the connectors
from the top of the bumper cover.

Optional Step: Using a Floor Jack, raise both sides
of the car in the back, supporting both sides with
jack stands, and remove the rear wheels.

Using Torx Bits, remove the inner rear wheel well
lining.

Get behind the rear wheel well and loosen the bolts
holding the bumper brackets on. They're pretty
difficult to find and remove. Be Patient. Do the
same to the other side.

Remove the rear bumper cover by pulling the cover
outward from the part nearest the wheel on both
sides. Once removed, take off the 2 black mounting
brackets from the bumper cover.

How do I replace headlight bulbs?

2003 Nissan Altima

Step 1: pop hood, remove grille. use a flathead screwdriver to release the black tabs holding it in.

Step 2: at the very bottom of the bumper, there are two screws on each side that hold the fender liner to the bumper, remove those

Step 3: peel back the fender liner to get to two bolts that are directly under the headlight which bolt the bumper to the car. remove those bolts, but be careful when removing the last one as your bumper may fall off and get damaged. (do this for each side)

Step 4: if you have fog lights, disconnect them before pulling the bumper off

Step 5: there are four bolts holding the headlamp assembly in, two on top, one on the front under the assembly and one on the side. (do this for each side)

Step 6: disconnect the three connectors to the headlamp assembly once you begin to pull the assembly out. they are push tab connectors, you may need to use a screw or flathead screwdriver to release them. just be careful not to damage them

Step 7: you have your headlight assembly out, now you should see a greyish dust cover with wires coming out of the back. that is where your driving lights are located. you will have to turn it to open it. depending on if you have halogen or HID bulbs (I have HID, so mine are strapped in with a metal clamp)

Step 8: replace your bulb and reverse the process to install the headlamp

Hope this helps. And don't let taking the front bumper cover off discourage you, it's actually very easy to do. The first time i took mine off, it took me all of ten minutes. it gets faster after that.
