First, run a direct hotwire to the horn. If it fails to work, replace it. if it does work, check that the relay is working. If both horn and relay are good, likely the horn connection inside the steering wheel has gone bad. That requires removing the horn pad from the wheel and possibly going deeper into the top of the wheel to find the problem. (most often you won't need to go that far though)

SOURCE: 1989 jeep wrangler starts jumping and backfiring

Start with the basics...meaning check the spark plug wires and spark plugs. While under the hood, inspect all hoses for a vacuum leak(s). Then turn the ignition key on-off-on-off- on...leave in the on position and write down the number of flashes the check engine light indicates....2 flashes = #2....pause.....3 flashes = #3.
Let start from here. Are you able to perform engine repairs or diagnostics???

SOURCE: Horn wont work

If you are facing the front of the jeep. It is on your left, on the fender well. Yes, you do have a fuse under the dash. The fuse panel should be marked on what fuse is it.

Horn on 1997 jeep wrangler has stopped working

my horn problem seems related to a bad horn connection, and a bad clockspring, (shorting out and energizing horn relay, causing battery to drain dead over weeks).

1989 wrangler 4.2 litre engine wont idle

my 1989 jeep wrangler would not idle and come to find out it was a little filter cloth inside the fuel tank that was on the end of the pickup tube going to the fuel filter. It was clogged up and when the engine was started it would just suck in and cut off fuel flow. My mechanic removed the filter cloth from the tube and the jeep runs great. It really does not need to be there because the fuel line has a filter on it. I hope this helps , I know for me it was very frustrating trying to figure this problem out.

Horn doesn't work on 2004 jeep wrangler sport

Check the horn ground. By pass the relay and feed the horn at the relay terminal. Could be a bad wire from the relay to the horn.

Were are the wrangler 1989 horn fuse

Horn fuze is located under the inside firewall of driver side, next to the parking brake. Most like mine has a spot buy no fuze, you can add one at or near the horn itself.

Is there a fuze for the 1989 wrangler horn

yes there is a fuse and should be marked look for it. you can also test for power at the horn this will mean the fuse is good.to do this some one will have to push the horn button for you. but remember power goes from the fuse to the horn button than to the horn, so if you have no power at the horn it could mean the horn button or clock spring depending on which your vehicle is equipped with are bad and if you have power at the horn it could be a bad ground or a bad horn good luck. please rate this answer.

Horn wont work

Using a test light check the current going to the horn, and try to ground it out to see if it works that way. If it does, then the horn is ok, but the switch in the steering wheel may not be grounding out.
