This problem is caused by one of the tiny little pins that are used to code the lock getting stuck, u can try getting some powdered Graphite lock cylinder lube to try and free it up, if that doean't do it you will need to replace the ignition lock cylinder, don't use anthing but dry lock lube, WD 40 or any kind of oily spray will make the problem worse in the long run. Lock lube is avil from any hardware store like ACE or Home Depot
Try a spare key if key still doesnt turn try moving wheel right to left sometimes if there is preasure on steering wheel it can hold ignition from turning , if nothing works then i would say you have a bad ignition switch, good luck,

######Answer, saw a demonstration on youtube that suggested that you place the key in the ignition if it is not turning, and give the key several good raps with a hammer and it will knock loose whatever is causing it to stick. I tried it and after four or five raps with the hammer it worked.#####

Hi
Before you turn out the light you should have a code read carried out just to make sure nothing sinister is going on with the management system.
If the car is running ok then the code will probably either pertian to the O2 sensor, the EVAP system, or a drop in catalytic efficiency, but this isn't set in stone, just the most popular scenarios.
Very best regards

the key may be worn badly or the ignition needs to be replaced.
