Auto won't down shift when o/d button is pushed

This button only makes the gearbox change from 3rd to 4th or 4th to 3rd, will not down shift in any other gear, make sure it is in 4th gear, usually above 60km, than press o/d off it should go into 3rd gear, if it does not than see a automatic specialist, it is usually a sensor, if you go to Toyota they will charge you a fair bit.

1995 jeep cherokee larado wont shift to third or fourth its a 4.0

Check you transmission fluid first. This transmission has gears 1-2 auto 3 and OD 4. If you are in 3rd and 4th and it is not recognizing it, it may be the linkage or you transmission needs to be serviced. This transmission and transfer case in this year jeep if bullet proof. It is a great setup. You shouldn't have this problem unless the service to the transmission has been neglected. Pleas don't forget to rate this solution for me.

I have a 1999 grand cherokee. The check engine light came on with a P1768 code. If I keep the trans in the "drive" position and start off, it feels like the transmission is in 3rd gear. No...

Hi, Your like your jeep is in limp in mode, this is to keep you from burning up transmission and to get you some were off the road, the p1768 code means A/T Transmission Relay Output Always Off. This should be checked out by your local shop or dealer. but you should make sure that the fluid level is correct, if to low there is not enough fluid pressure for the solenoid's to engage the relays. Hope this can help you out. If i can help you anymore fell free to re post.

GEAR SHIFTING CAMRY 2004 2.4 XLI

Hi,

This might be because of the gear box problem. By any chance, did your car face flooding? In such cases, please drain the gear box and replace it with new gear fluids. Also, check if you go in low speeds, you might be able to engage it with ease. Please come back to me if you feel this doesnt solve your issue.

Regards,
Hari
