If it's the weap hole the pump is going bad. That hole is designed to leak as a "warning" that the pump is going to fail.

To much pressure in a cooling system mill cause leaks everywhere. Even on new parts. Check radiator cap for gunk and make sure pressure valve is working. The highest pressure for cooling systems should be 17 psi and not any higher.

Coolant leak

Hose ? The drain valve on the lower radiator ? The water pump has what's called a weep hole built into it. When the water pump fails water weeps out of that little hole to let you know it's bad. I think the ion probably has the water pump onth the front of the engine under the plastic cover ? ( not sure on that ) if it is the water will leak from behind that plastic cover making it look like its coming from the area where the oil pan and that plastic meet. It could get blown around by the cooling fan making it look a lot worse that it is. Check the lower hose and all the other coolant hoses for cracks or leaks as well as the entire radiator area ( sides, top, bottom ) check your rad cap when its cool and be sure the rubber seal on the inside of the cap is good and not cracked or dry rotted. If it is then when the water gets hot and pressure builds in the rad it will leak. When its cold it may not.

If you are losing coolant first get a pressure tester and find out if your your system is losing pressure, if so look at your water pump to make sure it not leaking. it has a weap hole on it, you might check your heater core to make sure it not leaking, it will some times make a smell in your car if it leaks.Next check all your hoses and radiator cap. I hope maybe i helped you a little

Bad water leak, looks like it's comming from around the belts .water pump?

It sounds like the water pump is leaking from the weap hole.
Double the hode connections, and hoses. If they look good then it most likely need a new wayer pump

Water coming from pulley system

Hi, if you have water from the pulley area, it may be coolant leaking from the vent hole, in the water pump. This would leak more when cold, than hot. The repair, would be a water pump replacement. This is a fairly easy job, the only possible obstacle, is the fan needs a special holding tool, to dissasemble it. Otherwise, removing the upper radiator shroud, belt, and hoses, there are 4 bolts holding the pump to the engine. It is imparative that the engine block is clean , (to the metal), before the new pump goes on, then a mix of 50/50 dexcool, and distilled water, to refill the cooling system. Good luck...Coop

CHECK AROUND WATER PUMP AREA.AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING FOR LEAKS.THE MECHANIC WHO PUT THE WATER PUMP ON MAY FORGOT TO PUT SEALANT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE WATER PUMP GASKET CAUSING LEAKS.LOOK AROUND THERMOSTAT HOUSING FOR LEAKING.IF THERMOSTAT SEAL WAS DAMAGE DURING INSTALLATION IT WILL CAUSE LEAKING.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AROUND RADIATOR .CHECK RADIATOR TOP AND BOTTOM HOSES FOR LEAKS AND CHECK HEATER PIPES AND HEATER CORES HOSES FOR LEAKS.IF ALL HOSES GOOD.CHECK FOR LEAKING CORE PLUGS.

MY TRUCK IS LEAKING SOMETIMES COOLANT, COULD IT BE A HOSE OR THE WATER PUMP?

Check the radiator and hoses for leaks. Also, look at the water pump and see if any coolant is leaking out of the vent or "weep" hole. If coolant is leaking from the weep hole, the water pump is defective and will need replaced. When checking hoses, look for cracks and leaks, especially around the hose clamps. Hope this helped and best wishes.
