Repair the problem that set the light.You can get it off with a scan tool but it will come back on if the problem is not repaired.

Hello Tanejaami. What you are observing and have reported is what should be happening. When you turn on the ignition a number of lights appear all indicating that these systems are functioning correctly. That said, if the check enging light stays on after the engine is running that simply means that the car's computer has an error message in it's data bank. If you wish to know what that message is you have to have the car's computer scanned. To do that you can go to any AAMCO repair shop where they now scan for free, many auto parts stores where they now scan for free, or to a dealership where there is generally a charge. That said, start with the free scan and if it doesn't give you the information you need to solve the problem then get the pricey scan. The difference is that the dealerships have a more sophisticated scanner which is capable of more detailed information. Joe
