If your high beams work and your low beams do not work... try changing the light bulbs first. The low beams can burn out and the high beams still work.
low beams are on with the high beams does NOT mean the bulbs are
good. The low beams have two separate filaments, one that lights on low
beam and one that lights on high beam. That's why the low beams have
three terminals but the high beams have only two. It's entirely possible that both low beam filaments have burned out. If
the bulbs really are good, then the dimmer switch is the most likely
problem.
the high beam switch is at fault A new one is needed The directional lever you pull up on to switch to high and low connects to a rod which is going to the high beam switch at the mid section of the steering coluum. It is a headache to change for your on your head replacing this part
Check the fuses under the hood...chances are it's one of them....there's not much left to check after that....check the fuses inside the car as well...it might be the high beam switch is bad that switches the low beams to high beams inside the car.
