First thing you need to check is the fuse, which should be under the hood. And then the bulbs. No... they didn't both burn out at the same time. They burnt out one at a time. You just don't notice iuntil the second one goes.
I have the same issue on my Isuzu Ascender. I've changed the fuses, the bulbs and even the switch. Still no dice. If you got yours to work could you comment on what was done to it so I can try it on mine. thanks.
I just had the same thing happen in my 2004 Isuzu ascender. Haven't checked the fuse or bulbs yet but pretty sure one wasn't out and now both are. Kinda freaky coincidence. Wish someone would post some kinda answer to what appears to be a pretty common problem.

Yea I'm with ya both..I have a very unique problem..the 46 relay in the fuse box NORMALLY fixes the low beam problem and I in fact switched that relay back in 2010 and it fixed mine, HOWVEVER, since then I have had this problem. All of a sudden the low beams wouldn't shut off after the car shut off. They would stay on for anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours. But at least they always worked. Then, they started doing the same thing as in 2010, they wouldn't come on, BUT, only after the car was warmed up. First start of the day would be no problem, after that they would not come on. Replaced the 46 relay again and it didn't fix the problem. Dealer has no clue..I'm stuck......
Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6053280-lights_out_lights_not_out_bulbs_ok . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.
