2007 Saturn vue won't accept gas.

We have a 2007 Saturn vue. When trying to fill up with gas, the gas pump keeps shutting off as if the tank is full. It does this regardless of the amount of gas already in the tank and have tried different gas stations thinking it was a problem at the station pump. 2 different mechanics have looked at the problem with no resolve. Apparently it isn't the flapper valve at the nozzle input and they don't think it's the anti-siphon ball. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks but the mechanic says there is no screen but a ball used instead to prevent siphoning. They blew air through the neck thinking it would dislodge it if it were stuck somehow.

There is an anti-syphon screen in the filler neck of the gas tank. They do not have very large openings and the slightest debris will act like it is blocked. EIther have the screen replaced or completely removed, or don't put gas nozzle completely in the hole

That is correct. Either a screen or ball. They can get stuck or clogged. Many people have brought there cars to my repair shop requesting the removal of the anti-syphon device.

2007 Saturn VUE losing power

Hi,

it sounds like there might be an issue with your breaks or breakpads sticking whenever you decelerate from high speeds. Try "pump breaking" or applying the breaks for short bursts of time in order to slow down to see if this dodges the issue. If so, I would still get the break pad or system checked while still mentioning the full issue to the technician. Thank you.

I have a 2007 Saturn Vue and the engine light came on. The Chev dealership service center said it was a problem with a short / open fuel tank pressure. What does this mean and why will it cost me almost...

This does sound like a EVAP code was generated.

The fuel & vapor recovery is a sealed/closed system and the ECM runs a rather irregular test on the EVAP components based on a number of different factors. You may or may not have a leak, or just a faulty or loose gas cap. In the northern states, corrosion is a possible factor at hose & tube connections. GM EVAP valves do have a higher failure rate.

The cost is due to the need for a "smoke test"(pressure misting the system with a mineral oil based visible vapor) and likely pulling the tank &/or pump module to sleuth out the problem.

If this is the only code in the ECM, first try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour after filling the tank, inspecting & seating the gas cap. Keep the tank above 1/2 full. If the light stays off for 700-1000 miles or more, there may be a minuscule leak at a seal or clamp (in the absence of rust) that should not be a concern.

If this is the case, a week before your state inspection(and before several driving cycles) do the battery disconnect routine again to get the car to pass.

HOW I CAN KNOW WHICH PUMP GOES ON MY SATURN VUE PRIMARY OR SECONDARY IS 3.0 ENGINE

The primary fuel pump is located in the left side of the tank. If you fill the tank up and it still does not start then it is the primary tank. Problem is that now you will have to drop the tank with a full tank of gas. The primary pump is used to pump the fuel to the fuel rail, while the secondary pump is used to pump fuel from the right side of the tank to the left side. I usually replace both primary and secondary so I don't have to pull the tank again if the secondary is also bad.

Are you sure you have a fuel pump problem? What are your symptoms?
