2006 Saturn Ion won't turn off. Key will come in and out and will turn the car on, but since its a manual transmission we have to put the car in gear and kill to get it to turn off. What do I need to replace to get the key to turn backwards?

I have a 2006 Saturn ion and the ignition is completely off but everything else is still on like the radio and the lights on the dash board. Also the doors wont lock. What do I do?

The ignition swotch on the end of the lock cylinder inside the bottom of the steering column there is a connector that goes to it,,replacde that switch and relearn the switch,,,,after you replace the switchtry to start the car then let the key go back to the run position and let it sit for 10 minutes do this 3 times with 30 seconds between key starts and on the last one wait 2 minutes when done and they try to start it,,,,so its 3 10 minutes learns with 30 seconds inbetween,,
