Blower on a 2006 ford explorer

Mike, 2006 Ford Explorer blower motor resistor location, under dash, passenger side bolted/screwed to plastic duct work/plenum right by the blower motor. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

Sounds like blower motor may be bad or even a fuse can be bad. Take a test light and check for voltage at blower motor, if none check at blower resister, but always check fuses first

1997 was the second generation Explorer

5.0 -4.9lt V8 or German 4.0 V6

No AWD until 2002

The V8 had a 4R70W
The V6 had a 5R55E

4 & 5 speeds --No 3 Spd

Think your Transmission is due fro a rebuild

i wanna make sure if the engine is v6 or v8

check your owners manual under fluids and capacity

try rockauto.com, advancedauto com, autozone.com, most of them you can put your part number in and they will show you the part.

have the rubber hoses in th cooling system checked by a shop, one of them is leaking.

Look under the dash on passenger side and just to the left of the blower motor housing you will see the 4WD control module.Remove the 2 screws holding the module and let it hang down and your resistors are behind this.Remove the 2 screws holding the resistors and remove.
Now I am assuming you have manual climate control and not electonic.

if you have manual control climate control then the system has a blower motor resistor . if you have automatic climate control then the system has a blower motor speed control. in eather case the part is under the dash in the heater box. depending on the system you have, buy the part and then look under the dash for like part, you will half to remove the under dash panels to be able to see. the part will be on the heater box somewhare.
