ck the wire harness in the drivers door jam ,you will have to pull back the rubber boot sometimes the wires brake there from repeted open and closeing of the door,if there ok ck. for power at the motor when operating the switch
The drivers side is the master, which you probably already know. It has to be related to the motor, switch or wiring in that door. Check and make sure that your fuses are all good, then check to see if you have power to the switch, then power from the switch, if so then check the motor, check for power going to the motor, if it is there and still not working then it is the motor, likewise with the switch, if power is going to the switch but not leaving, then the switch is bad. No power at the switch is a bad fuse or wiring to the switch.
hi, if the drivers window works fine then this suggests the fuse is ok, if you can control the passenger window from the driver side and it dont work and the switch on the passenger side dont work the window then this would point towards either motor or regulator at fault, if the drivers side and passenger side switch are the same then you can swap the switches over all you need to do is pry them out and unclip the wires and swap them over this way you can test if its the switch at fault or the motor.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
Try the fuse. The switch may be faulty so check by removing the inner door panel and connecting a 12v battery via two wires to the motor that winds the window up and down. If it goes up and down it's probably the switch which may just need a clean on the terminals.
no. all the windows get their power from the driver switch. you need to actually check the circuit..using a volt meter check for power and ground..you are missing one of them..
First check the fuses if you have not done so. You will need to remove the door panel to get to the driver side window switch, the power for all of the windows enters through the driver side switch. Use a multi meter to determine if power is reaching the switch, if it is not, run a temporary wire from the fuse panel to the switch and see if that will work the windows. If it now works you know the problem is a bad wire. If you are getting power to the switch but not power out the other side you know the switch is bad and must be replaced.
I had the same problem with now power to windows, mirrors and seat. The common soulution is the orange and or black wire in the boot have broken between the door and post.
